Islam is constructed on number of principles that can't change they are believe in God the prophet the revelations these are immutable then there is the practice of Islam praying fasting and so on here also there agreement about both Shia and Sunni traditions but there is a third level that deals with Islamic ethics in this field there are implementations that have to take history and societies into account the answer here come from intellectual creativity from Ijtihad and this idea is rooted in Islamic traditions but we need a shift in the source of authority people who have the power to make Islamic rulings are what we call" ulema" (scholars) of the text" but what we need now is more of what I call "Ulema of the context" these are people who are aware of modern knowledge and who can help the scholars of the text to be more creative in their answers and fatwa what we need is role of modern knowledge in Islamic law and jurisprudence without need to betray the ethic of Islamic teachings
