What Happens To Your Immune System When You Grow Old? by Jilac1: 2:21pm On Jun 10, 2019
Your immune system naturally constitutes a network of cells, tissues, organs and proteins which gang up against infections, fungi, bacteria, diseases, virus and the likes. Some people particularly medical practitioners have regarded the human immune as the body’s military because they wedge war against infirmities that get around your body system. But what happens to these body militants when you grow old, do they still function the way they should? What would you do if you knew the truth about how your immune operates at old age? All the answers are provided right here.

Meanwhile, it has always been of good intention whenever a government recommends immunization for some set of gender or age bracket because they know you will need it as time progresses; even at old age, immunization, the best immune booster and antioxidants, healthy exercise and immune diet boosters are often recommended.

What happens to your immune system when you grow old, do they still function the way they used to?
Your immune system are supposed to be smart, vibrant and active enough to detect diseases, infections and foreign infirmities ( generally called antigens) that your body introduces to your system and fight them. This is made possible due to the production of white blood cells in your body; the white blood cells actually fight the antigens for you.

But you see, there is a place in your body called the thymus; it is located somewhere around your breast bone; that’s where some of these white blood cells mature. They mature and are ready to fight and sometimes ingest the antigens for your safety.

But then, when you begin to grow old, the thymus begins to shrink and automatically reduces the rate of production of white blood cells. As a matter of fact, old cells will hardly get replaced and your body will hardly get its hands around new cells except something is done very quickly. Meanwhile, your body immune system becomes slow and weak to fight antigens as fast as they enter your body; that becomes a problem, not bigger than you can handle anyways.

What would you do about your immune system when you grow old?
Your immune system is very delicate and so you don’t joke with it especially when you advance in age. So, I would recommend some herbal immune boosters like ginger, garlic, citrus, that’s one. Secondly, you will like to do some work-out, don’t you? Good exercise is a good immune booster although it works better when complemented with clinical supplements.
