Rednaxelot: Not going to happen. There is no magic that can make PDP to have 2/3rd senators to effect a leadership change at the senate. At the House of Rep, APC already has 2/3rd majority. Even the APC with majority since 2015 was unable to oust Saraki and Dogara. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Well the reverse of people's thoughts should be the case, but remember that Tinubu is heading towards his 2023 ambition and will need Buhari and his men to accomplish that. truthfulparrot: |

truthfulparrot: Nobody wants a NASS that is a puppet to the President. Buhari himself as a person who follows protocol does not want that. What majority of APC sympathisers simply want, is for the APC party to have a say in those that emerges as leaders of the National Assembly being the party with majority legislators. This is actually not a big deal, and that is the way it happens all over the world. It is the PDP sympathisers that made it a big deal because of the acute bitterness they have against APC party leadership. Saraki's underhand tactic in getting the senate seat in 2015, ably supported by the PDP is also one of the reasons why so much attention is on this mini election. Before now, only few people pay attention to NASS leadership elections. I personally feel the senate president and speaker positions should be scrapped. A chairman of plenary should be designated as an alternative, and the chairman should be rotated from time to time between the majority and minority leaders. The Senate President and Speaker of the House positions somehow belittles the weight and import of the Senate and House as a whole. It sort of makes the Senate/House have a one man face, which does not accord much weight as a body of the people's representative. 2 Likes |
