Simi said people were raised with different strengths but were made to believe only certain talents or career paths can bring success.

She wrote:
"I feel like the current method of education is faulty. Ppl have different strengths - but we were raised to believe only certain talents or career paths can bring you success. So we see a lot of potential and ideas dying cos they were born to the right ppl in the wrong climate."

I agree with her.In Nigeria, few specific career paths are prospective inclusive of medicine, law, engineering and maybe computer science.Graduates of other courses do not usually stand a good chance of getting a good and profitable job in their line of profession which is totally unconscionable. That is why most parents are bent on coercing their children to pursue either Medicine, law or engineering as a career path even when they are aware that their wards are not capable mentally.
Like simi said, our educational system do not cater to the diversity of mind. That is the reason scientifically oriented persons do not thrive well unless they get the opportunity of travelling to foreign countries where the environment is conducive enough to allow them flourish. At the end of the day when these persons put their scientific mind to productive use in foreign countries and make it big,Nigerians would be quick to claim them as their own without contributing anything to their success.
This is really a exigent need to revamp our educational system and make it more practical-oriented not just solely predicated on theories. If not, universities will continue to churn out graduates that are not well equipped for the very competitive labour market.
