I thought it is the entire Enugu State. You can even add Anambra join.

From Delta are not Igbos, to Onitshas are not Igbos. You guys graduated from that to Ndi Ebonyi are not Igbos, now it is Nsukka.

When Ndi Nsukka disappoint you guys like others did, it would be Ndi Aba are not Igbos but Ijaws.

Shameful things.
grin You are busy talking about number of Fulani in southwest forest.

But in enugu, thousands of Fulanis are not even only in your forests but also in your towns and villages. Keep on living in denial.

Nice one op for telling us what we already know.

Re: Nsukka People Are Not Igbos, See Why by oyatz(m): 3:04pm On Jun 12
What many people fail to grasp is that ethnic Identity is SELF identity.

You are who you say you are.

I know people whose great-grand fathers were 100% Fulani or Edo in 1900 but who are now 100% Yorubas in 2019.

There are many Igbos in 2019 whose great grand parents were Igalas, Bini or Idomas in 1900.

We are together still....what I meant was that some Igbo people want to claim that Rivers state is Igbo, ....rivers of course are their own unique people... My point is that the so called Igbos are denying their brothers and at the same time forcing other people to accept that they are Igbos.

By the way, just as you predicted, the thread I created on the bad road somewhere has been removed...
Juliusmalema:

I disagree with you here.

In all my years I didn't know or recognise that there are Igbos in rivers state or delta state. So anyone doing that is on his own.

Till today running to tomorrow, many of us are not aware of that.

Secondly there are many things the likes of kanu and his bandwagons fail to understand about Identity. You don't force identity on people, they decide who they want and we're they want to be.

Rivers state today might have decided to have more robust relationship with SW or north or inter marry or create parallel business to foster their unity...To me is their choice.

Dragging people who doesn't want you, create room for insults.

So on rivers issues I diagree because even here we are not aware that there are Igbos over and that has shifted insults away from us.

As for the op, he is abia state boy hiding under Nnewi moniker to write these.

I don't have your time, to me that was then but today is not same

Anyway I read one article from one of your brothers of Anioma ethnicity and I agree with him despite some area I will disprove or edit as I will drop that for you.

And to us we think he is right when he said that there are 5 types or is it 3 types of Igbos.

So I think the focus should be for each to Identify in the type they fall in and forge ahead from there.

He did well on that research.

Lolzz. I know it will be pulled down as this one will also go down with time.

Anyway uniqueness is not ethnicity, u must create something to be recognised nationally and internationally.

Am Igbo, I fully and unapologetically agree and acknowledge that same should go to rivers people who should come under one umbrella create an Identity for themselves more is not lost on me that I have read they have Ikwerre union or tribe( don't exactly know) but people must be identified to strengthen their culture and add value to themselves.

Finally whosoever that is the igbos that want to claim rivers should be ready to take the insult to his father's compound and not to us Igbos in general.

this is just different from being Neighbors, they're actually igalas who learnt Igbo elsewhere

So? Nzam in Anambra has a border with the Igalas of Kogi. There are many Igalas in Nzam who speak fluent Igbo. The fact that you go to Nzam town and meet Igalas that speak Igbo does not mean that Nzam people are Igala in any way, Nzam has always been an Igbo town.

So the fact that you go to Northern Nsukka, that also has border with Igalas of Kogi, and meet some Igalas that speak Igbo there does not mean Nsukka is is in any way Igala.

We have less than 5% of the Nsukka as Muslims.
We don't have any know mosque edifice in Nsukka. They are mainly Roman Catholics, and Anglican which together make up over 80% of the population.

Nsukka (Enugu North Senatorial district) is made up of 7 LGA out 19 LGAs we have in Enugu State. They constitute about 35% of the population of the State.

Enugu Ezike (Igbo Eze North LGA) has boarders with Igalas in Kogi and Idoma in Benue. it is about the largest LGA in Enugu State. She has cross border trade and marriage for over 300yrs.

One family in Amufie (Enugu Ezike) the Adukwu family brought Islam in the area through his business partners, the religion is poorly developed in the area since about 50yrs of it's introduction, some of the worshipers then has lost their children back to Catholic Church.

I grew up there, I schooled there.

So the term Nsukka is bigger than what you think.

I wasn't around that time to know where he is from and whether he was igbo or not. How do I answer questions that is above me.

And att bolded.

THERE ARE FIVE TYPES OF IGBO:
1) Igbos east of the Niger river;
2) Igbos west of the Niger, the Aniomas;
3) Igbos of the Delta of the Niger, the Niger Deltans;
4) Igbos of the upper part of the Niger; and
5) Igbos in the surrounds and distant Diaspora of the Niger across the sea.
Only number five has no Igbo land. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 ARE NOT EASTERNS.
