Fast-rising Nigerian Rapper, Naira Marley, age 25 and father of 4 was arrested in connection with Yahoo business since May 10 and just like a joke has been in jail since then if found guilty of the 11 count charges, faces up to 7 years in prison.

Nigerian born UK raised rapper Naira Marley whose real name is Afeez Eniola got arrested in connection with his vocal support for Yahoo boys on May 10th which happened to be his 25th Birthday. Naira Marly released his latest track “Am I A Yahoo Boy” on the same day, a song motivated by his argument with fellow singer, Simi who criticised the activities of Yahoo boys.

Despite being granted bail since the incident at Lagos court the rapper is still in custody because EFCC needs to verify his sureties.

Sadly, the organisation filed 11 count charge of alleged bad behaviour and fraud on May 14th. However, Naira Marley pleaded not guilty to all the charged against him.
Brief History
Afeez Fashola moved to London and grew up in Peckham before moving back to Nigeria. His hit single “Issa Goal” featuring Olamide and Lil Kesh became a massive hit in 2018. The song became associated with Super Eagles at the Fifa world cup, Russia 2018.
His stage name, Naira Marley came as a result of his musical inspiration from the reggae legend, Bob Marley, this also motivates his dreadlocks hairstyle. Since then, his music has been gaining momentum one bar at a time.
