Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, on Wednesday played host to H.E Aristobulo Izturia Almeida, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Venezuela.

Igbere TV reports that the Venezuela's Vice President was in Nigeria for a bilateral meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

He also participated in the June 12 Democracy Day activities at the Eagles Square, Abuja.

Our correspondent reports that with VP Almeida at Kalu's Abuja residence was Venezuela's Vice Minster for Foreign Affairs (Africa), Mr. Yuri Pimental and the country's Ambassador to Nigeria, David Nieves.

A former minister of the FCT, Barr. Chuka Odum also joined the reception.

Recall that Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, was recently in Venezuela on a peace making visit.

He was received by the country's President, Nicolas Maduro.
