The European Union has again submitted that the suspension of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen did not follow laid down due process.
In its appraisal of the conduct of the 2019 General Election, the Commission stated that the timing of Onnoghen’s suspension eroded confidence in the electoral process.
“During ongoing post-election sessions of the tribunal, the chair was observed to behave inappropriately, with insufficient time granted to the defence team and threats made to journalists.
