OHANEZE Ndigbo Youth Wing Raises Alarm Over Fulani Herdsmen Invasion on Igbo Land,

…….Charges South East Governors To Fortify The Zone With Local Intelligence Security Outfits

……. Disclaims Okechukwu Isiguzo Leadership

The Ohaneze Ndigbo youths worldwide has raised a save our soul concern against the incessant killings and kidnap of Ndigbo in their land by marauding Fulani Herdsmen.

The Igbo apex socio cultural group youth wing challenged as a matter of urgency, authorities concern with the task to provide security to brace up with their intelligence networks, demanding that the elected public officer holders in the executive and the legislative arms as well as the five south east governors and their counterparts in Delta and Rivers should fortify their internal security mechanism to enable them safeguard their territory from the invading Fulani marauders whose aim according to them is geared towards annihilation of their people from their ancestral lands.

The group also tasked Ndigbo home and abroad to consider their position with utmost importance and join their elected officers to ensure Igbo land is secured from the invaders, who seems to have deployed their machineries to sack their people from their farmland in the bid to extend their pastoral grazing zones to the south east of Nigeria.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo youths wing worldwide raised this apprehensive note at an emergency meeting held with its executives at their headquarters in Enugu, declaring a state of emergency on the onslaught of the Fulani Herdsmen incessant kidnapping of killings across the country.

The group who are mainly youths vowed to lend their support when necessary to secure Igbo land from been taken over by the Fulani herdsmen.

Speaking with our correspondent in Awka, to communicate the outcome of the emergency meeting, the national leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths wing worldwide, Ambassador Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiorah, raised the ominous, calling on Igbo sons and daughters, the political class, people in Diaspora and Legal professionals from Igbo land to be alive to their responsibility to ensure the systemic approach of the Marauding Fulani herdsmen should be put on check and ensure lives and property of Ndigbo are kept secured in their land.

He said, ‘’ Igbo youths are worried over the recent plot by the Fulani herdsmen, you hear daily in the news how they have relocated from the North to start kidnap business here in the South, even killing of their captives if they are not able to meet up with the ransom demand conditions’.

‘We will not fold our arms and allow strangers who come to our land to transact business will now resort to kidnapping and killing of our people, this nonsense has to be checked’. He submitted.

Amb. Obiorah lamented that most Federal roads in the Southern part of Nigeria are no more save for travelers, also pointed out the recent attack on Villagers of Mmiata Anam in Anambra West and Ayanmelum Local government areas of Anambra state, being the commercial hub of rice production in the South East, possibly with the intend to sack the villagers from their ancestral homes to enable them take over their agrarian land to further their grazing territory.

He called on the governors of the seven Igbo speaking states, National and state houses of assembly members from the states and Igbo people in Diaspora to come to their aid to ensure the people’s ancestral homes and farmlands not taken over by the marauding Fulani herdsmen.

Amb. Obiorah also challenged the governors of the five south east states including Delta and Rivers states to fortify their territories with local security intelligence group like the Bakassi boys to serve as their own surveillance security network that will checkmate the systemic invasion of the marauders.

While speaking further on the internal security of Igboland, ‘’ We resolved that our elected officials, especially, the governors of Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra Ebonyi, including Delta and Rivers to act fast against the stratagem of the invaders, planning to take over our ancestral lands’. He advised.

Among issues also raised at the emergency meeting was to publicly disclaim that Comrade Okechukwu Isiguzo should desist from speaking on behalf of the Igbo youths forthwith, he said the Igbo youths have raised a serious concern to dissociate itself from any dealings or statement issued by Comrade Isiguzo, the immediate past leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo youths.

He added that the youth group warned that people should refrain from transacting with him in the capacity of being the national leader of Ohaneze Youths worldwide, noting that his tenure had elapsed and the youth organization now have a new leader in the person of Ambassador Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiorah as the new national leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo youths wing worldwide.

The youth organization however warned that anyone who engages him in matters affecting Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing does so at his or her own peril, note with incontrovertibly fact that the parent body of Ime-Obi Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide under the leadership of Dr. Nnia Nwodo recognise the leadership of Ambassador Arthur Uchenna Obiorah as the authentic national leader of the Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing worldwide.

grin this is the main story below..

Kidnappers and herdsmen abducting people in some parts of the South-West have been warned to stop their nefarious activities or risk incurring the wrath of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC.

Giving the warning in a statement issued in Lagos, the President, Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Aare Prince Osibote warned kidnappers and herdsmen abducting innocent Nigerians to stop their criminal activities in the South-West or relocate elsewhere.

According to Osibote who succeeded late Dr. Fredrick Faseun as OPC national leader:

‘’Enough is enough. Yoruba are peace loving and hospitable. We welcome everybody with open arms, but OPC will not allow any individual or group to make the South-West unsafe or turn Yorubaland into a den of criminals. Time is up for these criminals abducting people. This is the final warning to them; they should stop now, or relocate elsewhere outside the South-West. If they fail to do so, they will soon meet their waterloo’’, he declared.

Assuring South-West residents not to panic, Osibote said OPC was ready to confront and flush out the kinappers, and herdsmen abducting innocent Nigerians from their hide-outs.

‘’We are watching the unfolding ugly developments with keen interests. Yoruba and other residents in the South-West should not panic. We are however calling on the Federal government to quickly address this insecurity problem before it further degenerates.OPC leaders will not watch helplessly or fold their hands while some criminals are making life difficult for people, and are behaving as if they are above the law’’, he declared.

While saying that OPC as an organization was committed to unity, peace, and harmony among Nigerians, Osibote however decried a situation where some criminals have constituted themselves into menace against innocent citizens.

‘’OPC is for peace but we are also against injustice and oppression. We want these criminals to be brought to book. We want security agencies to neutralize them.

Nigerians know what OPC can do. We can’t only bark but can also bite, and this is why we are appealing to the Federal government to find ways to tackle the insecurity challenge now.

Expressing OPC’s readiness to join hands with government to tackle the insecurity problem, Osibote said the organization as a stakeholder in the nation’s polity will be willing to offer useful tips and advise on how to tackle the scourge.

‘’OPC is ready to collaborate and partner with the government, especially the South-West governors in tackling the security challenge. We are close to the grass-root, and as patriots, we are ready to assist government in tackling the problem’’, he added
