25 students of Kwara State University bagged First Class Degree at the just concluded convocation ceremony of the University in Malete, Kwara state.

According to the VC, who said that a total number of 1,196 students are graduating this year out of which 25 are in First Class category. He added that 592 are in Second Class Upper, 533 Second class lower division while 46 students are in third class division.

The First Class graduands were awarded their degrees along with other graduates during the 7th convocation of Kwara State University. Abdulrasheed Na’allah urged Nigerian universities to wake up to their responsibilities even as he urged the government to give tertiary institutions the required support.

The Convocation lecture was delivered by Maryam Katagun, a permanent delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO.

In attendance was the new Governor-Elect of Kwara state. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, The Pro-Chancellor, and Chairman of Council, University of Lagos, Dr Wale Babalakin (SAN) among other dignitaries. Kwasu 7th convocation ceremony was graced by parents and guardians of the graduating students from different parts of the world.
