Nigerian Paradox: Fuel Station Uses Solar Panels For Electricity by Naijautonews: 8:08am On Jun 19, 2019
Ex-Aviation Minister seems to find it outrageous seeing a fuel station in Nigeria using Solar panels for generating electricity to power their pumps. See how he comments on the scenario!

Naijauto recently found a controversial update on Osita Chidoka’s twitter handle about a petrol station using solar panels for electricity and it is really a topic worth discussing at length.

Recall that Mr Chidoka was an Ex-Minister of Aviation under President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. So, it is worth a little attention when such a person like Osita Chidoka is lamenting about the current failures in the Nigerian system as a whole.

In his recent post on twitter, the Ex-minister shared photos of a certain fuel station that he spotted and stopped by at Abuja that relies solely on Solar panels for generating the electricity needed for powering their pumps and other operations.

Can you see how a large part of the fuel station’s roof is fitted with Solar panels?

His post on Twitter read thus;

“I stopped to buy fuel at Oando station at Jabi, Abuja and noticed solar panels on the roof. The Attendant in response to my inquiry said they are off grid and no generator, everything in the station is powered by solar! Fuel seller on solar. Is Nigeria ready for post-oil world?

Isn’t it worth thinking for a minute, how can a station that sells fuel for generating power be relying on solar energy for its own power?

While some agree this is kind of strange and reflects ineffective administration, most comments consider it as a normal phenomenon. You can check some replies to Mr. Chidoka's post as below!
