Who’s Taking The Chelsea Hot Seat? by Talkaboutit(f): 11:58am On Jun 19, 2019
It’s official, Maruzio Sarri has left Chelsea, once again leaving them in a position we’ve become too familiar with. Sacking managers or in some case the Gafa leaving after just or sometimes 2 seasons at the club.

Since the arrival of owner, Roman Abramovich at the helm in 2003, they’ve gone through 12 managers…..TalkAbout being picky.

With Sarri taking the Sarriball playbook to Juventus, Chelsea are already deep in their search for a new manager and we have decided to take a look at some possible Gafas.

1. Frank Lampard
Former Chelsea player and club legend, he spent over 13 seasons at the club, breaking records and winning trophies, including the magical Champions league in 2012.

He began his managerial career in 2018 with Championship side, Derby County, narrowly missing out on promotion into the Premier League, to top off an end to a wonderful first season.

A fan favourite, given his lack of managerial experience, he’s still a strong favourite to take over at the bridge.

2. John Terry

The Chelsea golden boy, playing centre back at the club since 1995, up until his sad and forced exit from the club duet old age (football age). Being a big lover of the game, he went ahead to play for Aston Villa in the Championship and eventually leading them back to promotion as an Assistant manager.

With just one season of managerial experience under his belt, he doesn’t seem like a good bet, but like Super Frankie, he’s a fan favourite and a cult hero at the club……..these don’t guarantee trophies though.

3. Steve Holland

Coming across as the quiet guy beside most of the past Chelsea managers, from Andre Villas-Boas to Roberto DI Matteo, Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. And now he’s the assistant of the powerful but sometimes unpredictable English team.

With over 15 years of managerial experience on the side, it’ll be great to see what he’s capable doing on the big stage.

4. Claude Makelele

Arguably one of the best defensive midfielders in the world back then, tirelessly chasing down attackers and controlling the midfield like a teen playing call of duty.

His managerial career has not been as glamorous as his footballing career so far, maybe that might change as he just quit his job as Manager of Belgian side Eupen and it all looks too timely……don’t you think?

5. Jose Mourinho

Laughs in special one, just trying to wind you Chelsea fans up. That’s not possible unless the guys on the Chelsea board are on some next level w****d.

As they say, third time’s a charm…………maybe he has taken care of his third season hoodoo and a big ego.

Right now, these are the preferred choices for the hot seat……….excluding no. 5, Chelsea fans are not ready for another roller coaster season.

Let’s watch how it unfolds, mind you, Chelsea are still banned from buying players, so whoever gets the job has to work with the current crop of players……..this should be fun.
