Ikwere Youths To Peter Obi: Apologise To Amaechi Now by silverbirdng(f): 12:54pm On Jun 19, 2019
A socio-cultural organization in Rivers State, the Ikwerre Youth Movement, IYM, has called on the 2019 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi, to apologise to former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

The youths pointed out that if Obi could not condemn former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha’s statement that Igbo presidency does not exist, then he should apologise for attacking Amaechi over a similar comment.

The former Minister had said that for Igbo to be successful in their quest for 2023 presidency, they must play national politics.
Reacting, Obi said Amaechi lacked political relevance in Rivers, adding that the former Rivers State Governor cannot determine the fortune of the South-East in the 2023 presidential race.

However, Okorocha had, after his inauguration into the National Assembly, advised leaders of South-East to reach out to other regions if they must produce a President in 2023.

In their reaction to the development, Chairman of IYM in Emohua, Sir Lucky Worlu, urged Obi to condemn Okorocha on the statement or apologise to their son, Amaechi, immediately.

Worlu maintained that what Amaechi said was the true position on how the South-Eastern region would produce a President in the next four years, urging Ohanaeze Ndigbo to commence consultations early.

The Igbos can very well survive on their own without any government presence. Arguable the only tribe that can do that in Nigeria.

I have taken a very close look at the Igbo race. A majority of hard working men and women of this region seldom care if not little about who rules or not. So long the Nigeria environment is favorable for business, they are fine. Arguably the only tribe that posses such political nonchalance.

A people taken through the menace of war are usually tough and unrelenting. For generations, the story of how they survived an onslaught for 3 years is being passed on to their children. A tale eradicated from our public schools, purged from our history books, is being told in it's true context amongst families. That is how they pass tenacity and survival instincts to generations born after the war.

Apologise for what?

For being foolish.

First Asari on behalf of Ijaws gave you heavy slaps with threats. Now, the Ikwerres are sizing you up for uppercut.

Better summon the drunkards in Ohaneze and apologise.

Ikwerre no dey give mumu ultimatums like una. Na sharp sharp dem go cure una madness.

Apology on what ground?

On the ground that Obi was foolish and shouldn't be talking to his masters how he did.

The other day when Asari threatened to teach you guys a bitter lesson, did the Ohaneze ask before they started rolling on the floor begging Asari?

They weren't summoned, they were dragged by the scrotum like deceased goats to come and apologise.

Ikewere youths are even kind. Asari slapped their fathers continuously before ran to start begging.
