Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Reject Fulani Assistance To Secure South East U by ashiwaju2010(m): 1:07pm On Jun 21, 2019
The Ohaneaze Ndigbo youth wing worldwide has rejected the proposal made by the National leadershipnr of the Miyetti Allah Castle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), demanding ohis members be accommodated in the surveillance and vigilance security architecture of the south east.
The youths organization condemned with strong resistance, noting that the apex Igbo socio cultural group youths have all it take to secure their territory, with the backings and support of their state Governors.
The Igbo prominent youth organization distanced itself with the proposition advanced by the national chairman of MACBAN Alha Mohammadu Kirowa represented by its national secretary Alhaji Baba Ngelzarma at the security stakeholders organized by the South East Chambers of Commerce, Mine and Agriculture, SECCIMA in collaboration with South East Governors Forum held in Enugu.
The national leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing worldwide, Ambassador Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiorah made the position of the youth organization known at a media parley in Awka, urged the south east governors to disregard the move trying to include Fulani herders in their sensitive local vigilance security architecture.
He said the group convoked the emergency meeting Thursday night and resolve that Ndigbo have profound numeric strength and competence to secure their environment without recourse to solicit assistance from a third party to safeguard their territory.
"We are youths and have able body men and women to carry out the security task of our States, we do not need the assistance of Fulani herdsmen or anyone to protect us here in Igbo land".
" Ndigbo are known to be strong and industrious in all we do and I don't see the need for our leaders to entertain the Fulani requests, proposing to protect us in our ancestral land, we in Ohaneze Ndigbo youths say No and it will not happen here in Igbo land.
"We also resolved in our meeting that we are looking forward to having a roundtable talks with them so that our region will remain peaceful.
" we are not mixing words on our grounds that we are capable of securing our zone, urging our Governors to disregard the Fulani proposal and convene a security meeting with Igbo leaders and our group to fashion out plans to further secure our territory".
' Security matters are not discussed in the open where people of diverse interests are assembled".
Also reacting to the alleged terrorism attacks in two of South east states issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth office of the United Kingdom, warning its citizens in Nigeria against visiting some states in the country over possible terror attacks, Ohaneze Youths organization dissociates self from such report, said the report is malicious and its tantamount to an attempt to scare investors from patronising the Eastern States, to deny them of our hospitality as well as a ploy to shift t investments to participate in the proposed Free Trade Zone that is about to commence at the Akanu Ibiam International airport.
Ohaneze youths affirmed with strong determination that the zone is the most peaceful territory, calling on investors around the world to explore the African Dubai innovations in Aba, Japan Experience in Nnewi and Singapore business hubs in Onitsha and Ogbete markers.
"There is no doubt to repeat that our region has remained the most peaceful zone in Nigeria, we are peace loving people and business inclined too".
'Ohaneze Ndigbo Youths Under the leadership of Ambassador Dr. Arthur Uchenna Obiprah, being the authentic spokesperson for Ohaneze youths wish to assure our investors to disregard the UK terror scare report, we want to assure then to come and do business here in the south east, without fear of molestation".
United Kingdom and Commonwealth office are entitled to their findings, but we in Igbo land know our territory more than anyone and we want to reassure our prospective investors to feel free to come to any of the south east states, including Delta and Rivers states without fear of any Terror attack". He gave the assurance
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all travel to:

Borno State
Yobe State
Adamawa State
Gombe State
riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States
within 20km of the border with Niger in Zamfara State
The FCO advise against all but essential travel to:

Bauchi State
Zamfara State
Kano State
Kaduna State
Jigawa State
Katsina State
Kogi State
within 20km of the border with Niger in Sokoto and Kebbi States
non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers State
Abia State
Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Nigeria. Most attacks occur in the north east, particularly in Borno (including central Maiduguri and along access routes connecting the city to other major towns and along the Niger border, including in Damasak), Yobe, including the eastern LGAs bordering Borno State both north and south of the Damaturu road), and Adamawa States. There have also been significant attacks in Gombe, Kano, Kaduna, Jos and Bauchi States and in the Federal capital, Abuja. The terrorist threat across eastern Yobe and Borno State is high, with frequent recent attacks. Terrorist groups carried out attacks in North East Nigeria during the February 2019 election period, and further attacks are likely. We continue to advise against all travel to Borno and Yobe States.
You should avoid places where crowds gather, including political meetings, religious gatherings and places of worship, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, transport hubs and camps for displaced people. Attacks could be indiscriminate and could affect western interests as well as places visited by tourists. Besides Abuja, other major towns and cities remain particularly at risk, including Kano and Kaduna.
