We get one talent and instead of using it to make more than 20 talents, we go and hide it in the sand.... P.S The Kano Aiport was built by the Northern Regional government back in the 1960's as an international airport....for the region. Don't compare it to the Delta state airports...(In other words, you are comparing an airport built by 19 states..back when the North was an agricultural and mineral powerhouse... against one built by just one state. One thing I have noticed about Nigeria is that when it is time to criticse our leaders...it is the guys in Aso Rock that we bash. State governors on the other hand?? We don't even look at them much. Some time ago on Niaraland, there was a thread on the fact that Otuoeke, the hometown of GEJ did not have potable water...and people were blaming GEJ....forgetting that there is a local gtovernment chairman, a representative at the State House of Assembly and a Governor...as well as a State water Board whose job it is to provide potable water...and who should not be waiting for GEJ to tell them to do it. Or the time when people were bashing Buhari for there being no hotel in Daura...forgetting there is a LGA chairman, a District head, a councillor, a state representative at the State House of Assembly, a Governor, and a state toruisim board, and a state investment board....No, Buhari has to build a hotel in Daura... Suppose GEJ and Bubu had never gotten into Aso Rock...that is how their vilalges would have been permanently underdeveloped. After people would be shouting 'True Federalisim'...well, true federalism does not mean that you would get all the oyel money while the Hausas get none...and go back to cotton and groundnuts...it also means that people at the lower level of government get more responsible...and more prudent, innovative, etc. But because Nigerians want to sit down and chop money from sunup to sundown.... 19 Likes 1 Share |
