incidents like this can be easily avoided if the government starts doing their job.When will the government start visiting these hotels ,restaurants to check things are being done in the standard way also they should check the activities of all these bukas too some should be shut down permanently especially in lagos

Isn't it time for hotels to barricade swimming pool and left it just for tourist site

As usual they will all look for who to blame except the lad who knowing he doesn't know how to swim, chose the path of blind bravado... The result of which was the end of his life.

As much as we are taught not to blame the dead, but in this instance, if you can't swim and you jump into a pool, you have committed partial suicide...

I remember back in the days when i would sneak out with friends to go swimming at Gateway Hotels Ota.

Yes, it's stupid becuase they are supposed to first do a CPR on him first to remove water from his lungs.
I stay some few blockes before the hotel. People around believe the hotel is haunted as the first day the hotel was comissioned, someone drowned there. It is suspected the owner was an occult person, he's late from what i heard.
The hotel always looks like a ghost town when you walk past it and i am surprised to see someone walked into there to swim.

My personal decision remains that instead of going to a swimming pool. I use paint bucket, fill it up and bath like a dolphin in my bathroom.
