The only crowding-out effect is bad leadership.
But who is to blame for said bad leadership, other than the same Nigerian masses who consistently select bad leaders? Just look at this very website, where every discussion about the 2020 elections revolves around which zone's "turn" it will be to produce Buhari's successor, with hardly any thought given to what the candidate ought to do on getting power, or even how the only "benefit" that "the north" is currently seeing from their current "turn" has been an explosion in poverty and hunger thanks to Buhari's ineptitude.

As long as the majority of Nigerians are money-worshipping tribalists who can only think of power in terms of a few of their elite "kinsmen" getting "their turn" to "chop" (i.e. steal) from the public purse, Nigeria will continue to have incompetent thieves for leaders, as has always been the case.

Do these duo even agree with each other?
They can't agree because education makes the difference.
I'm sure one has certificates while the other one, I don't know.

*I came across this very useful article that would give us an enlightenment and copied it 4 u. Please find time to read through it...*

Arabic Bible: Is The Content Different?

There are more Christians in Palestine than Israel. Their vernacular is Arabic.

There are more Israelis who are Muslims than those who are Christians. And they also study in Arabic inside Israel.

The population of Palestine is 12 million. 7 percent [approximately 840,000 of them] are Christians.

In contrast, Israel population is 8.5million. Only 2 percent of Israelis, [approximately 171,000] are Christians while 17.5 percent of Israelis, [approximately 1.5m], are Muslims.

Now let me further break it down. Most of the 840,000 Palestinian Christians speak Arabic as their vernacular. Most don't speak or understand English.

Their Holy Bible is written in Arabic language.

In the Arabic Bible, God is called Allah. That is how God is called in Arabic language. Same way the Yoruba Bible calls God "Oloun."

If they want to say "God is great", they also say "Allah Akbar."

If they want to say "Glory to God" they say "Alhamdulilahi."

Their preachers preach to them every Sunday in their churches in their vernacular, which is Arabic. Just like the Catholic Pope preaches in Latin. Sunday services in many parts of Egypt too are conducted in Arabic because that is their native language.

Don't let the fear mongers continue to spread fear and sow discord among us.

Those saddled with the task of uniting us have become instruments of division.

Arabic is not Islam and Islam is not Arabic. One is a language, the other is a religion.

Arabic is a language like English, like French, like German, like Spanish, like Hindi, like Yoruba, Hausa and Ibo. It is not a religion.

So if you like another man's English language and claim to hate another man's Arabic language because most Muslims speak Arabic, my friend, you are simply a slave of accidental civilization.

So I am wondering why all these topsy-turvy?

Why all the hullabaloo?

Why the hoopla?

Why the noise and the evil intent to use other people's languages to play politics in our country?

Are we not tired of dividing ourselves for wetin no concern us?

I am sure the owners of these languages will just be laughing at us in their hearts.

That is not true, they work very hard when they go abroad because it is difficult to be lazy and the systems are not so corrupt.

Majority of Nigeria's youth are lazy and only into 419 get rich quick schemes, they are not interested in slow progressive old fashion hard work - they just want to hit quick, especially IGBOs!

Nigeria has enough citizens of working age to build the infrastructure, provide charitable services that will grow the country but they waste their youth risking dangerous road and shark infested waters to become slaves in Libya or enter useless countries like Italy!

Is it the mark of "laziness" in your mind to risk one's life crossing the Sahara desert, and then risk it again trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea? Do you think these are minor feats on the order of walking across the Third Mainland Bridge?

In your zeal to insult the "youth", you don't even notice how you blatantly contradict yourself, all the while ignoring how millions of feckless "elders" managed to f**k things up for the youth they themselves sired, through 60 years of tribalism, nepotism and rampant corruption.

You are talking absolute rubbish, your mentality will not allow you apply commonsense!
1, It is an act of laziness to leave a country with abundant arable land and farming options to go become slave in other countries - you are too African to understand what that means!

2, if undertaking these are not "minor feats" - why not use the same zeal and effort to survive in Nigeria?

3, The problem of Nigeria is not "tribalism, nepotism and rampant corruption" - it is lack of commonsense - you are an example!
The citizens of Nigeria do things that automatically impoverish their present and future generations because they refuse to practice family planning - only born the number of children you can feed and cater for.

4, The irony is that...some of the richest people in Italy are farmers, these stupid Nigerians cross the Mediterranean only to become tomato pickers and farm workers for Italians who posses yeye land that is not as arable as the ones they have at home!

VP Yemi Osinbajo was seen in US talking about how Nigeria is bound to do well with hard working Nigerians. Gistvic Reports.

We could recall Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, went to New York on a four-day visit to the United States which he would meeting with his US counterpart, Mr Mike Pence, and other key groups and interests in the country.

He was heard saying:

What a tiresome blowhard you are! FYI, you don't get to redefine words to mean whatever you wish them to mean: in the real world, nobody who undergoes the ordeal of crossing the Sahara and the Mediterranean Sea fits any sane definition of "lazy", and the only reason why anyone would take such insane risks is because they lack the opportunities to make something of themselves at home, a fact for which it is not the "youths" that are to blame, but the middle-aged and older useless blowhards like you, whose ignorant, tribalistic, superstitious and ridiculously pompous mindset has ensured that these youths are born into a sh*thole with no prospects for those without the right connections. I suspect you rant and rave so ferociously precisely because you know the role you've personally played in screwing up this failed state so badly, and are therefore eager to deflect blame somewhere else.

South Korea has a population of 50 million people and produces a GDP of 1.5 trillions dollars without oil. Nigeria has a population of 180 million people and produces a GDP of 405 billions dollars with oil accounting for more than half. The thing is it is not the work one does that really matters but the output per labour that really determines productivity. Another angle to look at it is most Nigerians spend their time doing petty jobs that do not really contribute to economic growth while most people in China, Japan and Korea spend their time working in assembly lines producing for the world. Our problem is we have extremely low productivity as a nation which is not good for economic growth.

No doubt Nigerians work very hard.

But the fruit of that hard labour is always stolen and grossly mismanaged by the few elites.

Unless you pay taxes, which most Nigerians don't, your "fruit" is 100% yours.
