12 Things You Should Know About #TraderMoni

A lot of things have been said about TraderMoni, most of them, political.

I was privileged to work with a group of people who are enumerators in this programme and here are 12 things I learnt.

- Trader Moni is an empowerment scheme by the FG for petty traders/artisans.

- It kicked off in Sept 2017.

- It is a collateral/interest free loan.

- Presently it has won 4 international recognition/awards.

- Registration/Payment is electronic.

- Disbursement and repayment is handled by BOI.

-TraderMoni is presently in the 36 states and the FCT

- It is not a vote buying scheme

- It is a cashless/paperless transaction

- One of its objectives is to promote financial inclusion

- It is not funded by the Abacha loot, but the national
budget

- Registration is free
