Kano state -based musician, Mohammed Yusuf aka AGY was last week jailed for two years for defaming the character of state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in a song that he released.



He sang in the song: “Kano governor has already turned blind, I swear what you did is hurting us, For lucre, governor is more than a thief. For lucre, governor can sell out Goggo.”
After the song went viral, Yusuf was picked up by officers of the law on Monday, June 17, and arraigned before Magistrate Court 72, presided over by Aminu Gabari.

You can't go around accusing people of crimes without any proof..... Therefore unless he had concrete proof that the gov was a thief, he deserves to be punished for defamation
