Fatimo Bello has become National Women Singles Open Championship gold medalist after defeating Esther Oribamise 11 -7, 11-6, 11-8, 11-4. Fatimo, seeded 13 at the Africa games trials defeated tournament favourite Cecilia Otu- Akpan 4-1 in one of the semifinals, in the second semifinal, Esther Oribamise struggled past 2018 National Sport Festival Gold medalist Ojomu Ajoke 4-3 in an evenly tensed encounter.
