Buhari Pursued "RUGA" Vigorously Yet Drags Feet on Funding Universities

The issue of the funding of Federal universities and implementation of the agreement reached with ASUU has been on President Buhari's desk for four (4) years now. The attention expected to be given to such an important issue has not been given to it.

Yet this same president is vigorously pursuing the matter of what ordinarily is a PRIVATE SECTOR issue. Who owns the cows the federal government wants to use federal funds to boost? Are the owners of the cows paying anything back to the government in return in form of tax or payback of the funds to be injected? Why is there no similar funding for poultry farmers, pig farmers and other livestock?

Do we run a military state where the Federal dictates to the states?
Who owns the lands constitutionally - federal or state?
Can the federal in a democracy enforce itself on states?

More importantly, how many millions of cows do we have in Nigeria?
How much space in square kilometres of land is required to raise them?
Which states have more cows?
Can the required land space not be secured in those states?

Are we raising the cows of the entire West African region?

These and many more other pertinent questions are not been raised. The government too is operating as a secret society in this issue. Stakeholders are hardly engaged in what it wants to do. The federal government has left what is directly it's own - the funding of the educational institutions and is running with a private sector matter - the rearing of cows. What a shame!

At the end of the day unmanageable consequences will result that would end up retarding our growth as a nation. And all because of serving personal and sectional interests.

When it comes to any other project from electricity to roads to funding education Buhari will claim no money or no budget but for his Satanic Ruga he can find money and even order contactors to complete them in four weeks even without a cabinet in place still. Ruga is nothing but Fulanization of Nigeria and alll Sane Nigerians must rise and reject it

UNESCO prescribes a minimum funding for Education sector and not necessarily Universities alone. FG should look into primary education funding across the nation.

The outcry and noise over the last 2 years has been over Herdsmen killings, so it makes sense to prioritise finding a solution to it. I suspect some of them don't want a solution to the killings, so they can always use it to flog Buhari and his government.

So the issue is to pacify those who use their business - rearing of cows - to spoil other people's business - planting of crops.

Where is their home states?
Are those home state unable to accommodate the cows?
Do these cows hearders REALLY want to be caged in "ranches"?
Have they solved that mind-set issue?

When questions are not addressed we would only be pushing forward the dooms day.

This again buttresses my point. Why is the federal government dragging it's foot on many other important matters yet pursuing "RUGA" so vigorously?

The simple answer is that there is insincerity on the part of the government.

The SSA to the President on media was asked a simple question on Channel Television news: which states have accented to this program and where are these RUGA settlements to be located? He gave no answer. He claimed that in order to protect the projects there is need for secrecy for now.

In a democracy? Where is the freedom of information ACT? So, has RUGA become a national security matter that needs to be shrouded in secrecy?

Again:
Is cow business a PRIVATE SECTOR MATTER or Federal Government issue?
How many cows do we have in Nigeria?
How much land space do we need for them?
These are questions no one is giving us answers to.

And here is LABOUR still struggling to get the federal government to implement an already agreed minimum wage structure. And someone wants to tell us that it is OK.  People's means of living day to day is not as important as providing spaces for cows.

. Do you think this ruga of a rubish will end herdsmen/farmers clash? You must be joking,if in doubt go to Kaduna wheather their are no clashes of such because,similar act of settlement were implemented. What i can't comprehend is comparing education to ruga in peace resolution.
