This seemed like a long premeditated plans, they started subtly when they said that history as a subject should be stopped in all public secondary schools and that means they would no longer employed history teachers ,no one will sit for the subject in WAEC and NECO again by this the coming generation will not know anything about the jihad of uthman Danfodio in the Northern region , they would never be able to understand that the Fulani came from futa jalon in Sudan , the identity of all tribes and ethnicity will soon be forgotten and very soon some one will move a motion in National assembly to say that once you have stayed in a particular state for certain numbers of years you will automatically become an indigene of that state , that means a Fulani man staying in Lagos or enugu for like 10 years could contest as a Governor of the State, next the history of Nigeria and different ethnic groups would be rewrite and upcoming generation would be made to believed that a particular tribe is superior to others, they won't be able to argue because they will be seeing the preferential treatments people from this tribe are getting from all area of live endeavors ranging from school admission to employment after school to social amenities in there area to appointment into political post , the military and armed forces would be in their pockets and the emir that would emerge from what innocently look like a cattle ranches now would be declared "first class emir "in their various locations, imagine having 6 to 8 first class emir in a state from a particular ethnic groups, if you have ever had opportunity to see what a KARA is ,you will understand how this thing will work out, Kara usually start like a small cattle market and before you know it grow bigger and dominate it's environment due to continuously migration of cattle rearers from various locations to settle in and around the market finally one day the reality will Dawn on every tribes both the major and the minor that there would longer be anything like the threat of secession to wrestle or to get your demand pushed at the center anymore because fulanis living with you can longer be driving out nor can you convince them to go with Biafra or oduduwa or any other tribes , it's a game plan made for future political gains but the present governors of the concern state are more concerned about what would come to their pockets than the likely implications of this forced intergration in the nearest Future.

Except employing and teaching history and schools in general are the responsibility of the state government who when they were stealing the money for teaching history and upkeeping schools in general you very likely said not much!

Here's a thread on Let's Make Government Teach History. Lets see what we make of it.

Everyone seems to know that history is not taught in our schools. We also know it ought to be taught. This thread is for those who know to influence with the exertion of collective power. Its aim is to agitate for the education of history.

First though, in a crude swot analysis, let me do the 's'. If you've been here awhile you have been imbibing history so pat yourself on the back for taking responsibility for educating yourself instead of waiting for history to fall like manna from heaven into your head. If you've posted any history on here you are an angel taking responsibility for others for you have gone to the heavens and brought light from the gods and enlightened others with it. This is next level. Agitation for history in Nigerian schools.

I know our limitations. We are Nigerians! Joining together to accomplish things is really not in our nature or our dna. What's in our nature and our dna is rather what divides us along lines we place between us. So I'm aware of the impossibility of my desire here. Still, my faith in us knows no bounds that if we even attempted to try it just might grow and history is taught in Nigerian schools.

The level above the above would be the turning of our entire education system into one of the best in the world. With 42.54% of our population currently between the ages of 0–14, we will need better school. In 10 or so years, those 0-14 will be your own children or grandchildren! Who will teach them history if not you, its parent?

Please know that no contribution is unwelcome except those done without engaging brain. And thanks for even thinking about it at all. Its contributory.
