The Senate on Wednesday, set up a bipartisan ad hoc committee headed by a former governor of Ebonyi State, Sam Egwu, to probe the alleged assault on a nursing mother by Senator Elisha Abbo in intimacy gadget store in Abuja.

The embattled senator is a Peoples Democratic Party member representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Slapped a saleswoman multiple times and ordered her arrest in an adult toy shop in Abuja earlier this year.

Allegation the senator has since denied.
