PRESS RELEASE

The attention of Management has been drawn by some parents of the School to a press release signed by one Abdur-Rahman Balogun on 5th July 2019 on behalf of a purported ISI ‘Muslim Parent Forum’.
Management wishes to state as follows:
1. The International School Ibadan (ISI) ‘Muslim Parents Forum’ is not known nor recognized by the school authorities.
2. The school being a secular and cosmopolitan school does not relate with students and their parents based on religious affiliations.
3. Management of the school relates with parents through:
i) General Parents-Teachers Association (PTA)
ii) Boarder-Parents Forum (BPF)
Any other grouping of parents aside the above is not known or recognised by the school’s management.
4. There is no crisis in the school. The idea of crisis in the school has been fabricated by its author and is being propagated by his circle of friends to distract the management and should be disregarded.
5. There is no harassment or intimidation or molestation of any student in the school. This allegation is a misrepresentation and a calculated attempt by the author and his circle of friends to discredit the school’s management and cause distractions to achieve their contrived objectives having failed to secure the backing of the court.
6. The grounds of ISI begin from the junction with Barth road. It is only the school’s management that has the right information to determine the length and breadth of the school grounds.
7. Management pleads with the author and his circle of friends to teach their wards to respect and obey the school’s management rather than encourage and incite them to acts of indiscipline.
8. The school relates effectively with parents, students and staff of all shades of faith without bias or discrimination.
9. The author and his circle of friends are advised to desist from engaging in a malicious and orchestrated social media campaign of calumny against the school.
10. Management wishes to assure parents, staff, students and all stakeholders that ISI is peaceful and will continue to provide first class environment conducive for quality teaching and learning.
