University of Ibadan female hostel have been reported to have been attacked by armed men who succeeded in carting away phones, laptops and other valuables.

The armed men numbering about 10, attacked the University at the early hours of of Friday, 12 July, 2019.

Not only was the female hostel reported to be attacked, the Obafemi Awolowo Hall in the University,was also attacked.

A report says the hall porters had carried out an inspection around 11pm on Friday before the incident. Unsuspecting students had reportedly opened their doors when they heard knocks early Friday morning thinking the porters had returned another round of checks.

About five students are said to have sustained injuries, and are currently receiving treatment at the University's clinic at Jaja.
