Wow! It's been a while I uploaded any story. I'm Esosa Kolawole, a writer and blogger. Please, leave a comment if you enjoyed the story. If you didn't I'm here for it too. wink cheesy

They kept showing up and leaving. They never stayed permanently. Sometimes a week, sometimes a month. Some have green eyes, wings that look like heavy clouds with plastic smiles dancing on their lips.

I have no idea how they find me every time. I have told mom and dad about them, but they just laughed and patted my head. But I knew it wasn’t normal. Nothing normal has wings, nothing normal appears from nowhere. Nothing normal talks to me with no other person seeing them.

One came by when I broke down and cried in school. Face white as snow, lips red as berry and eyes piercingly grey. She did her best to put me back in shape.

It worked for a short period and then I got scared.

Another one came. His eyes were browner than coffee beans, his skin was lighter than his eyes and his wings were magnificent. He took my fears and restored me too.

But, today, another kind of feeling brewed in the deepest part of my tummy. I sensed my neck muscles strain as I tried to stand up, but Lillian threw her doughnut at me.

Anger reared inside me. I knew what would happen even if I thought about it. Her minions laughed, pointing at me and leaving me bare.

“Nobody likes you,” Lillian smirked then crossed over me. “Can you just die already? Everyone hates you.”

I shivered despite the hot weather radiating through the windows and shut my eyes, wishing Lillian would just shut up for life. I hated her. I hated her voice, and every that has to do with her.

Their voices echoed around me, taunting me to get up and run. A few seconds passed then they stopped talking. I sat up to see what was happening and then I saw a girl about my age standing at the door.

She packed her hair into an updo and wore a black gown. The white creamy blend of her skin reminded me of milk as the sun shone on her. I couldn't help but wonder if she was a ghost. Would me finger graze through the air if I reached out?

As she walked closer, her shoes clip-clopped on the tiles. For a moment, I searched for Lillian and her friends. But they froze. Their chest still moved though. Obviously, they weren’t dead.

Can they see her? I wondered.

“Doubt that,” I muttered.

She stopped right in front of me and peered down. “So... Who should I hurt first?"

“Uh...” I swallowed.

“You’re broken, but unlike my sisters and brothers, I’m not here to fix you.”

Black wings grew from her back, and she gave me a sinister smile. She was definitely impressed by her little performance.

She turned and started towards the girls, hissing as she did. I nearly gagged at the damage I was about to cause, but a thought struck me.

I must keep my guardian angel longer this time.
