Princess Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi is a Nigerian Senator and former Minister of Aviation.

She was sworn in as the Minister of Aviation on July 4, 2011.

She was however relieved of her duties as Minister of Aviation on 12 February 2014.

She was also active in the political campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, where she served as his campaign’s Director of Administration and Finance.

In 2015, she was one of 109 senators elected to the 8th assembly. Only seven of these were women.

The 57-year-old Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial district in a recent tweet revealed photos of some ongoing road reconstruction project that she is facilitating in her constituency.

According to the tweet, “Roads are vital for economic progression. The captured road construction works at Woliwo, Onitsha South and Ndida Akili, Ogbaru are among my prioritized infrastructure projects for rural communities of Anambra North Senatorial District.”

See photos of the road projects below.

The money has already been allocated to her by federal government it’s just a normal infrastructure development project

When you keep applauding these people when they do what they are elected to do, You reduce their sense of responsibility as they tend to conclude they have done enough to deserve such praises. Request for accountability on that road and tell what Nigerian doesn’t know about the cost. In todays generation, Policy making beats infrastructure.

The Infrastructure we spend Government funds to build, will require maintenance. A good policy will see private investors putting in the work for whatsoever Infrastructure we deserve. You cannot continue to feed a child and provide everything for him. Because, when that child is grown and cannot depend on you anymore (then start stealing).
It is not her duty to construct roads especially with her personal finances like she is doing here.
That job is for d executive like d governors, local govt chairman or president.
She can only influence such jobs to be done in her constituency by d executive.
Give kudos to whom deserves it,some of her colleagues will rather share 5k or even 2k to d masses than embark on such laudable projects.

If she constructs a road, builds a hospital,a school, a community centre, a park, it's coz she was ELECTED to do so.
The people deserve even more.
A$$ licking should stop.
Politicians are elected to DO stuff undecided
Its not d job of a legislator to build anything ,pls.
That job is solely for the executive.
She can only try to influence d executive and that's all.
In this case, she deserves accolades as it is not a constituency project but funded from her private pocket.

I will hail her as she has a choice of pocketing the money but she chose to do the right thing. I bet you don’t thank your Dad when he gives you money especially when you know it’s his responsibility It’s okay to hail them

I know som1 who works wt her and she often does that.
Besides,d signpost on top of a car rim where d town union was thanking her suggests that cos if it were a constituency project, you would've seen a signpost with d fed govt ministry or agency as d employer,d name of d contractor and maybe her own name as d influencer.

So then, were are her constituency projects? Are u saying she pockected money for constituency projects, only to then use money from her "private pocket" to fund this project?

d pictures didn't reveal d entire length& breath of d road. So what makes u think there won't b a signboard on another portion of d road?

Please do emphasize that it's not her private fund but either stolen funds or part of the constituency project she is mandated to carry out by law.

I don’t get to quote people on this forum but i must confess you prompted me to do .

I’ll agree and disagree with you ‘bout Nigerians not knowing their right . The problem isn’t the civilians but the military, police and other high government officials.

The civilians have little knowledge of what it’s going on in government and I guess that’s what you mean by poor education ? You will surprised ‘bout the number of people who doesn’t know where the government office in their various states are .

The military who could easily hijack the government and turns things around for better ain’t complaining nor the police , how much more the civilians who has a little voice ?

You sound intelligent and smart , what are you doing to changes this obstacle ? Ever gather a lot of people for protesting ? I just hiss whenever I see people blaming the civilians toward the government. We ain’t ready yet , until then .

well, it is quite unfortunate majority of Nigerians lack exposure, were poorly brought up, had poor education, etc. So they dont know their right. This is what i have been saying: politicians were elected, and paid to fix these things. So when they do, they are not doing us a favour, they are paid from our collective wealth and tax. Nigerians dont understand. They praise sing these guys.

These politicians if u see how humble they usually become when they get to other countries where their citizens understand what leadership is all about.

It is a pity only few among us understand that politicians arent doing us any favour by doing what they were paid to do.

I do not know what your point is, But are you suggesting an unrest as the only possible way to challenge an erring Government? Wow, This is unarguably the worst thing I have heard from a person. Are you aware that no matter what is going on, you can only speak up and not interfere with Governance? Else you will be charged for treason, Now talking about me leading an unrest, I have values for my life and that of other individuals and my selfishness will not be the reason why I would want to drag other innocent people to an unrest for them to get slaughtered by the Military or the Police.

A government that is serious and wants the best for her people does not need to be reminded. I have not contributed in any way voting in anyone of those currently leading this country. The first and last time I voted was for Late MUSA Yaradua, If my Government is unpatriotic to listen to several other protest, then STOP putting your life on the line all in a bid to be patriotic, You will get old quickly and barely have anything tangible to take care of your family with, better focus on bettering yourself than believe in decades old fairytale of Nigeria go better.
