Author and self-made millionaire Steve Siebold has interviewed more than 1,200 of the world's wealthiest people over the past three decades and has noted that reading for self-education is a common trend among them.

Steve was a broke college student and in his quest to become rich, he began with one interview — with a millionaire. Since then, he's interviewed than 1,200 of the world's wealthiest people over the past three decades and become a self-made millionaire himself. In his research, he noticed a pastime the rich have in common: They self-educate by reading. He says "Walk into a wealthy person's home and one of the first things you'll see is an extensive library of books they've used to educate themselves on how to become more successful. i.e., Rich people would rather be educated than entertained.

Investing legend Warren Buffett reportedly spends about 80% of his day reading, and continues to include book recommendations in his annual shareholder letters.
In 2015, Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg resolved to read a book every two weeks, and even started a book club called "A Year of Books" so that he could discuss those books with the Facebook community.

This is a falacy. Many wealthy people hate reading. Some don't know how. Trump rarely reads. I think the ideal way to acquire knowledge is through direct experience or through being taught by a person who has done it.

But u r showing me what these people SAID not what they DID to become wealthy. How many bookworms or academics u know are wealthy?
Here are some facts:

1) Most people have a deficit of action not knowledge.
2) It is easy to confuse book with real life. Something may sound very good in a book but be very bad for you and your particular situation.
3) Learning from people and direct experience, then ACTING, is best. Too much reading bogs u down.
4) U have enough info right now that if u never read again and simply learn from life and ACT, you'd be successful.

Well, I think you might be misunderstanding the whole thing. When I say reading, am not talking in terms of academics (even though its still important). What am referring to here is reading that has to do with studying the principles and life style of people who have made an impact in the world.

Why is this necessary? To guide you in your own journey in life, to enable you learn from their mistakes and successes. And you mentioned learning from direct experience, which is true. But what if you don't have the opportunity to meet with them in person? How then are you going to learn from their experiences?

You are going to learn by reading what they or someone else has written about their life. For example, the site below offers an in depth look into the life style and teachings of successful people from all over the world.

There many billionaires in the world who don't know how to write their names . You people should stop misleading the young ones . That was how they told us to read and that we will become successful in the future . Those who didn't even know how to write their names are building mansions where we ,that read can't even get a descent job.

Yeah, but wouldn't you want to know how those people did it?

It doesn't matter how they did ..There is no general universal law for making money or becoming rich . What works for A might not work for B . Motivational speakers keep dishing fallacies every time and when people follow those rules and they don't make it ;they become suicidal.

See how theory is so different from real life. What u just said makes sense on paper but real life does not bear it out. Most successful people DO stuff and interact with real-life people who are already where they want to get to. They don't sit around reading about other people. Bill Gates was busy doing computers, not reading about it, and Buffet was busy investing.
