Google AdSense is the most popular and to some, the best advertising platform on the market. The company generates millions annually from advertisting. It also allows publishers share from this revenue by joining the Adsense program and placing ads on their websites or blogs. With this, Adsense provided a way for site admin and website owners to easily check their earnings and other data. This was done by accessing an app created by the advertising platform for publishers. The mobile app is both available on Android and iOS platforms.

Now just like must come and gone apps and service from Google, it seems like the fate for AdSense Mobile Apps will be coming to an end. This is as shared by the company on its official blog. According to Google;

We will be focusing our investment on the AdSense mobile web interface and sunsetting the current iOS and Android apps. By investing in a common web application that supports all platforms, we will be able to deliver AdSense features optimized for mobile much faster than we can today.

What this means, is that AdSense Android and iOS apps will be deprecated in the coming months and will be discontinued and removed from the app stores by the end of 2019. It is unclear as to why Google chose to unpublish the apps altogether, but it was a long time coming. Both apps haven’t been updated since 2017.

AdSense Android and iOS apps allow publisher to easily and quickly check ad pageviews, clicks, impressions and revenue generated from the site. Of late, the apps didn’t let users access a lot of advanced features for account management and ad set up as they were always limited to the desktop version of the console.

Google said that about 70% of audiences consume content on mobile devices. Additionally, a third of site admins, uses AdSense from mobile devices. Google says that they’re ‘continuing to work on the mobile platform’ and that we can expect to see improvements to the AdSense mobile web interface ‘later this year’.
