Even if it says its OEM, unfortunately you’re not always getting OEM. Counterfeiters are increasingly specialising in copying vehicle replacement parts. More and more often this practice extends to safety-relevant parts such as brake linings, windscreen wipers, suspension components or filters. The counterfeit parts are often deceptively real, to the point that not even experts can easily identify them upon first glance.

These non-genuine parts not only contribute to financial losses but also pose a safety risk. When tested against original parts the results are shocking. For instance, counterfeit brake pads can make the braking distance up to 15 metres longer and failure of the counterfeit product can, in the worst of cases, lead to a severe accident.

These parts are the most often replaced in vehicles, so be wary of the one you buy as replacements.
