To say the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) betrayed him, Ademola Adeleke must have forgotten how he threw away his chances of becoming the governor of Osun State in September 2018. His brother, Deji Adeleke, recently released a statement blaming the PDP for not standing by the younger Adeleke enough, and for being responsible for the massive losses his family incurred from the failed bid.

But history can’t possibly be swept away. It’s still clear as daylight how the Adeleke’s rejected the opportunity to put aside their differences and team up with Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the election. We all know the rancour between the two sides, but the current situation is what happens when politicians fail to understand priorities.
