A man who specializes in the manufacture of locally made guns for criminals and kidnappers in Rivers state was on Tuesday arrested and paraded by the Rivers state police command. His name is confidence Meme
Confidence Meme said he got into gun manufacturing to protect himself at a point when he was constantly attacked by Robbers
He confessed that the only time he produced gun in large number was when one of his friends Friday Obe pleaded with him to produce for them for the purpose of local vigilante
He said little did he know that the guns would be used to rob until they were caught by the police insisting that his intention was not to manufacture guns for criminals
Another Suspect Joshua Edet who was also paraded disclosed of how a police officer called Emma allegedly aided and abetted them in their kidnap business by supplying them with guns and bullets
He said the police officer allegedly brings the guns to Rumuokoro roundabout and on delivery was paid between the range of 50,000 to 200,000 naira depending on the supplies
He revealed that their area of operation covered Rumuekini, Choba, Rumuahoalu, Rumuosi and Nkpolu in Obio Akpor LGA
He also confessed that most of the crime and kidnap committed were done with the help of some men of the police who most times help them to beat police check points.
