BETTER EDUCATED WORKERS ARE LESS SATISFIED

Job satisfaction is lower among people who are more educated and who are single, and higher among public servants. Moreover, job satisfaction follows a U-shaped course over a lifetime, starting high before dipping and then rising again. Workers with secondary and tertiary education are about 2 percentage points more likely to be completely unsatisfied with their jobs and 2 to 4 percentage points less likely to be fully satisfied.
