Congress of Igbo Leaders (CIL), UK, at the 2019 Igbo Festival of Arts and Culture (IFAC), held in Edmonton, London on Saturday July 13 called on the Igbo worldwide to be ready at all times to confront the challenges militating against civilization and their survival in the 21st century.

The call made by Mr Obi Okoli, Coordinator of the group at the 7th edition of the festival was to rekindle in the Igbo the essence of upholding the tenets of their culture.

The event which had about seven traditional rulers and about 110 cultural groups and organisations from Nigeria and parts of the world in attendance was an avenue to unite and appraise the capabilities of the Igbo globally.

The traditional rulers present at the occasion were HRH Eze VNC Ibenye Ugbala; HRH Igwe C.O Okeke Udodinma 111 of Amaokpala Town and Igwe Godwin Ogo Ezeilo- Ezekunie Obu Nanka, both from Anambra.

Others include Igwe Ejiofor of Oye Kingdom; Igwe Ezeogu IV of Okporo kingdom, Imo; HIM Eze Charles Onwuneme Okeosisi from Abia State and HRM Igwe C.I.C Nwangwu (Obataobia na Ogidi) who represented Igwe Ogidi, in Anambra.

Mayors in UK of Igbo decent among whom are Cllr Victoria Obaze, Cllr Kate Anolue and Cllr Anna Mbachu as well as representative of the Nigerian High Commission, and many community leaders from across Europe, were all in attendance.
