The Kwara State Government has reacted to the abduction of four Turkish nationals in the state.

Igbere TV had previously reported how a gang of suspected kidnappers abducted four expatriates along Gbugbu-Lafiagi road in Edu Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night.

We gave the names of the kidnap victims as Seyit Keklik (25), Yasin Colak (33), Ergun Yurdakul (35), and Senerapal (40).

Igbere TV gathered that the abducted expatriates were working at a quarry site located within the area.

They were said to have gone out to buy energy drinks when the kidnappers waylaid them and took them to an unknown destination.

Reacting to the development, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, on Monday, said he is working closely with security agencies to ensure those abducted are rescued.

In a statement sent to Igbere TV by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor appealed for calm and asked residents to go about their normal and lawful businesses.

“The Governor is working closely with the security agencies to ensure prompt rescue of the expatriates.

“The Governor urges the people to go about their normal and lawful businesses and not to entertain any fear, as doing so may embolden the criminals behind the development”, the statement read in part.

As always, mere words with little or no effort to back it up.

A place where visitors cannot be assured of their safety— and the government does nothing to help the situation.

Nigeria police re making a very big mistake, They re chanelling more energy on big cities like Lagos than small state like kwara, Don't be surprised if you car is stolen here in Lagos, If the car is not buttered and the part to be sold in alaba or ladipo market believe me your car will be in one small state like ebonyi, police won't suspect too find it to that far place, Out of 100 stolen cars police will recover 5 and rush out too the media so we can believe they re working hard.
