Kirghistan is a poor country. It is at best lower middle income. A lot of their people emigrate to Russia seeking work.

It is one of the "Stan" states.

Only Kazakhstan has perform well due to not only oil but to the liberalising spirit of their president. He is an economic reformer.

Uzbekistan is now doing much better also due to economic reforms introduced by the newish president after the demise of the long reigning dictator.
