Precious Owolabi, the 23-year-old youth corps member serving in Channels TV who was killed in the cross fire between the Police and Shi'ites members in Abuja yesterday July 22nd, died after several hospitals he was rushed to allegedly rejected him. A colleague of the deceased, Chamberlain Usoh hinted on this while speaking on Channels TV live this morning. Speaking, Chamberlain said ''Given what transpired, there are many ifs and buts because following the accounts of how he eventually lost his life, when he was shot and the stray bullet hit him, they had been taken him to several hospitals and it is one of the issues that we raise consistently on this programme, how that needs to become history in this country where when people are taken to the hospital, the hospitals for one reason or the other, you find out that for one reason or the other, treatments cannot be adminsitered on accident victims because in many cases, it is no fault of theirs. https://all-gists..com/2019/07/hospitals-refused-to-treat-channels-tv-journalist-because-he-had-gunshot-wound.html 1 Like 1 Share

How true is this allegation? Because it would amount to a crime by that hospital since the National Assembly has passed a law mandating hospitals to treat gunshot wound victims without delay. 9 Likes |

What was he doing there in the first place I didn't watch any video that he recorded. So he wasn't even supposed to be there. He was paid 19800 allawee and deserve to pay the hospital first before being treated. Since it wasn't the hospital's fault he was there at the protesting ground. Who was going to pay for all those gun stitches? I believe the hospital let him die so as to put the presidency in trouble but their plans has failed. The president is a very kind man. |

That hospital go become scape goat for this whole brouhaha How can people who had taken chiropractic vow of saving lives first at all times no matter what become the same ones who'd stand, do nothing and watch hapless patients groan in pains until they take their last gasp? Almost everything in this country is sat on its head. What a shame |

Charleys: Don't say that. Innocent people fall victim of stray bullet all the time, so anyone (or someone close to you) can find him/herself in such unfortunate situation. How would you feel if you are denied treatment by a hospital under such a critical circumstance? 3 Likes |

Nigeria should be a local government or better still, go back to be recolonized. Tell me a country today where police report is needed before treating a patient of gun shot wounds if not countries synonymous with animal kingdom like Nigeria. Very useless country. 3 Likes |

3 words "fuucckkedd up country" From d law to the institutions/organizations; Ultimately to it's citizens. A journalist with his tag, u won't save his life. Even an offender should be treated to state of survival, in the process of treating the individual, the police should be alerted. |

Beremx:Funny enough I do agree with this post. I even think channels is trying to use the hospitals not treating him to deflect from their own culpability in the guy's death owing to their poor judgement and probably inability to provide the guy with appropriate protective gear for the kind of assignment he was supposed to carry out that day coupled with the nature of the parties involved in the confrontation. Even stopped watching Channels long ago,so it's their own cup of tea. 1 Like |
