Just google America's most iconic sportsmen of all time. Tom Brady won't show up in the top 10. Probably even top 20. But you'll see Jordan up there only behind Bo Jackson. Tom Brady compared to Jordan??
NFL is played and watched mainly in USA compared to NBA which is global hence you won't know so much about. I follow NFL and I know their stars both active and retired. Tom Brady is still playing and is as big as Jordan was. He has won 6 Superbowls which is out of this world. Other stars like Peyton Manning, John Elway, Jerry Rice, Ray lewis were big. You see a lot of NFL stars in commercials but you don't know them. They play with helmets on hence their faces aren't so prominent.

One doesn't have to be necessarily familiar with these American sports but if you don't know the Yankees and Cowboys, then you are still living in a cave miles away from modern civilization.

nfl/american football is the biggest sports in America(followed by baseball's mlb).most Nigerians(even citizens from other countries)only have interest in basketball that's why it seems that bball is America's biggest.


Although some experts are of the opinion that NBA basketball might likely catch up with MLB baseball in the future,but that's what it is-some people's opinions.right now, baseball is still ahead of basketball.

There's Babe Ruth of the Yankees and Red Sox (MLB)..
These two are Major Icons that can rival the NBA guys u mentioned.

lol.. besides in the US NBA is still ranked behind NFL and MLB in terms of followership and popularity and revenue.. NHL is not so bad either

That you have heard abt them in Hollywood movies doesn't mean you know them... Those that watch Nigerian movies but still have no clue of those teams but can defend football teams with the last drop of their blood doesn't make them come from a cave it's just that the sport isn't popular period... Meanwhile we aren't talking abt them been popular it's about their value..

and these events only happened because the Cowboys were winning championships at one point.
The New England Patriots were a very low value team in their history. Kraft took over, got BB, they got a gem in TB12 and now 6 Super Bowls later there are the 2nd most valuable NFL team after the Cowboys.
