Hip-hop has lost many greats talents over the years from GUNSHOT DEATHS. Be it from excess, LIVE SHOTS to DRIVEBY, musicians of all stripes and genres seem to leave us in their prime. The Notorious B.I.G., 2PAC,XXXtentacion CHINX and NIPPSEY HUSSLE were all ascendant hip-hop figures when they died.

To salute rap’s fallen soldiers, here’s a countdown of the TEN great rappers who died way too young.
1. XXXtentacion


Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy (January 23, 1998 – June 18, 2018)
On June 18, 2018, Onfroy was leaving the Riva Motorsports motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida and, at approximately 3:55 p.m., was blocked from exiting the car park by a black dodge journy SUV. Two armed men exited the SUV and approached the rapper while he was sitting in the driver’s seat. A brief struggle occurred, and the armed men reached inside Onfroy’s vehicle, stole a small Louis votton bag containing $50,000, and shot Onfroy multiple times. The shooters fled the scene in their SUV and Onfroy was transported by paramedics to the nearby Broward Health North hospital in Deerfield Beach, where he was pronounced dead

2. BIG L

Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974–February 15, 1999) 20 years
The death of Big L (Lamont Coleman) was one of the most harrowing tragedies in hip-hop, considering that he was on the brink of becoming a star. Sadly, Big L was gunned down in his native Harlem. On February 15, 1999, a drive-by shooter dumped nine shots on Big L.

3. Nippsey hussle

Ermias Joseph Asghedom (August 15, 1985 – March 31, 2019) 33years

On March 31, 2019, Hussle was shot multiple times in the parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles at about 3:19 p.m. He suffered at least 10 gunshot wounds; among those gunshot wounds suffered were a shot to his right chest, a shot which entered into his abdomen near his belly button which severed his spine, a gunshot wound to the right side of his back which penetrated into his chest and struck his lung, and a gunshot wound to “the posterior top” of his scalp.

4. B.I.G

The Notorious B.I.G.
Aged: 24 (May 21, 1972–March 9, 1997)
The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace) died just six months after 2Pac’s murder. Biggie was leaving a VIBE magazine party in the wee hours of March 9, 1997, when a Chevrolet Impala SS pulled up next to his SUV and dumped four shots on the rapper. Three shots were non-fatal, but the fourth bullet struck several vital organs.Biggie was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. His murder remains unsolved.

5. 2PAC

MAKAVELLI THE DON
Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971–September 13, 1996) Aged: 25
Tupac Shakur is one of the most influential rappers of all time On the night of September 7, 1996, Shakur was in Las Vegas, Nevada to celebrate his business partner Tracy Danielle Robinson’s birthday. At 11:15 p.m, when they were at a stop light, a white, four-door, late-model cadillac with unknown occupants pulled up to the right side of Shakur’s sedan. Someone inside rapidly fired gunshots at Shakur. He was hit four times, twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the thigh. One of the bullets went into Shakur’s right lung The rap great died six days later at the young age of 25. His murder remains a mystery.

6. Yaki Kadafi

Yafeu Akiyele Fula (October 9, 1977 – November 10, 1996)

On September 13, 1996, Tupac died after being shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting near the Las vegas strip on September 7. Kadafi was in the car directly behind Tupac, and claimed to have seen the white Cadillac pull up alongside him and open fire. Kadafi reportedly said he could identify the driver and had requested to keep it 100% confidential but was exposed by news reporters. On November 10, 1996, two months after Tupac’s death, Kadafi was found slumped in the third-floor stairwell of an apartment building at 325 Mechanic Street, in Orange, New Jersey. According to the las vegas sun Fula was found by New Jersey police at 3:48 am. He had been accidentally shot once in the head by Napoleons cousin, who later turned himself in to the police and served 7-8 years in prison.

7. PROOF

DeShaun Dupree Holton (October 2, 1973–April 11, 2006) Aged: 32

On April 11, 2006, Proof was shot three times by Mario Etheridge, once in the head and twice in the chest, after a dispute broke out during a game of billiardson 8 mile road in Detroit michigan. A pool game between Proof and Keith Bender turned into a heated argument and then escalated into a physical altercation. Etheridge, who was Bender’s cousin, fired a warning shot into the air. There have been many conflicting reports about Proof and Keith Bender’s roles in the shooting, but it was reported that Proof then shot Bender in the head during the altercation Bender was not immediately killed by the gunshot but died a week later from his injuries. In response to Proof allegedly shooting Bender, Etheridge then shot Proof three times, once in the head and twice in the chest, killing him at the scene.

Proof was Eminem’s longtime friend and mentor. He was a key figure in the Detroit hip-hop underground scene and helped Eminem develop into a complete artist. Proof had a respectable career of his own, as a veteran member of D-12 and a solid soloist.

8. Chinx

Lionel Du Fon Pickens (December 4, 1983 – May 17, 2015)

On May 17, 2015, NYPD officers responded to a 911 call in Briarewood ,Queens around 4:00 a.m. There, they found Chinx and another victim in a car at Queens boulevard and 84th Drive. Chinx was transported to Jamaica Medical Center in Queens with gunshot wounds to his torso, where he was pronounced dead, at age 31. Two men who were already incarcerated on other charges have been re-arrested in connection with the murder.

Chad Lamont Butler (December 29, 1973—December 4, 2007) Aged: 33
In early December 2007, Butler had been staying at the Mondrian Hotel in West hollywood Carlifonia, where he had been working on new music and performing with Too Short. On the morning of December 4, 2007, he was scheduled to fly back home, where his wife, Chinara, was waiting with his cousin Ed at the airport to pick him up. After not hearing from him the morning of the scheduled flight, his wife called the hotel and requested that they check on him. Hotel staff discovered Butler unresponsive in his hotel room and he was pronounced dead at 33 years old shortly after Getting a phone call about the death of his brother-in-rhyme Pīmp C (Chad Butler) wasn’t exactly how Bun B hoped to celebrate the success of UGK’s Grammy-nominated single, “Int’l Players Anthem.” Pīmp C was found dead in a hotel room just three weeks shy of his 34th birthday. love-vendor C left an indelible mark on southern rap, and his name still commands respect beyond the Mason-Dixon line.

Big Pun

Christopher Lee Rios (November 10, 1971–February 7, 2000) Aged: 28
Big Pun (Christopher Rios) had a huge impact on hip-hop and is widely revered as one of the all-time rap greats. As one of the earliest Latino MCs to achieve mainstream success,he kicked the doors wide open for upstarts like Joell Ortiz and Termanology. Rios struggled with weight issues his entire adult life. He weighed 180 pounds (82 kg) at age 18, which increased to 300 pounds (140 kg) at 21. His weight fluctuated in the early 1990s between Obese and morbidly obese In his last known interview, Big Pun was so sick that journalist Cherie Saunders had trouble transcribing his words. Editors also rejected his publicity shots because of how ill Pun looked. Little did they know that big fella was on the verge of a massive heart attack that would later claim his life, His weight had reached a peak of 698 pounds (317 kg) at the time of his death

Eazy-E

Eric Lynn Wright (September 7, 1964 – March 26, 1995) Aged 31

At a Hollywood news conference on March 17, 1995, former N.W.A frontman Eazy-E told the world that he had AIDS. Eazy-E acknowledged that he had led a promiscuous lifestyle and that, before Tomica, six different women had become mothers to seven of Eazy-E’s kids. “I had other women,” he admitted. “Maybe success was too good to me.” While in critical condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he and his long-time girlfriend Tomica Woods who was pregnant with the second of Eazy-E’s children together were married at approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 14 surrounded by his immediate family. On March 26, 1995 one month after the initial diagnosis—Eazy-E passed away at approximately 6:35 p.m.

Mac Miller

Malcolm James McCormick (January 19, 1992 – September 7, 2018)
On September 7, 2018, Miller was found unresponsive in his studio city home by his personal assistant, who called 911 and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 a.m, from a suspected Drug overdose . He had been scheduled for a video shoot on the day of his death. In his will, Miller named his mother, father, and brother as beneficiaries He was buried at Homewood cemetery in his hometown of Pittsburgh, in a Jewish funeral. On November 5, 2018, the los angeles county office determined that Miller died from an accidental drug overdose due to a “mixed drug toxicity” of fentynol alchohol and cocaine
