A bird was shot in the middle of the day, the birds flew and the people disappeared
Scrambling for solace from a bullet sting with death
Grateful the casualties are minimal or we didn't wait to check
Wanting to hide under a shade amidst rocks and stones
Give us a shelter lest we fall and die
Come back from your hiding they beckon unto us
The bullet you run from are neither poisonous nor death
The solace you seek are shelters that shouldn't be sought
For in peace we come and in peace we leave
As long as your boss give ears to our cry

We listened to them oh, we listened this time
We listened to them like we've always done
We came out of our hiding and ignored the bullets
We came out of our hiding and ignored the protest
We came out of our strong hiding and ignored the argument
We stepped out with confidence believing truly in peace they came
Until the day the peace was shattered and it turned to scuffle
We come in peace again they chant
But tell your boss to give us what we want
As long as he does, the peace we keep
Parading ourselves in the strength of their voice
Relying on the assurance their voice on radio brought

Then today they came out again
In mass, ready to fight ready to protest
In remembrance of the peace they preached onward and onward we carried on our activities
Forward and forward they matched, in one twos and threes
They weren't a threat or so we thought
And i was at a corner eager to do my job
Eager to gather every piece of event that happens here for my T.V
My country i serve and my PPA i must obey
Work extra hard to ensure i am retained
Oh the joy my folks will get when I tell them i covered the story of fame
Oh the pride in my mother's eyes when she sees my name on T.V
Who knows i might get lucky and even get a tip
But this time the panic mode is on the increase

Everyone has gone to take cover hiding from the angry crowd
A faceoff between the police and them
A faceoff between Civil Defence and them
A faceoff between all the Securities and them
Ablaze they set a building once high and tall
Take cover! Take cover! Take cover!
Not now, let me get the last shot
But the last shot came from their gun
The sound throbbing right at my chest

A gun was shot in the middle of the day, the birds flew and the people disappeared
This time i'm among the casualties
And in my grave i found myself
My country I served till death cut me short
If only a court order was obeyed
I wouldn't be in a casket with the flag as my companion
Flying to heaven at an age so young.
