Pls can somebody enlighten me about the difference between Benz C230, C240 & C320. They all have the same body shape.

Guess it is in the engine capacity.

W203 internal/chassis designated code has two series, prefacelift, and facelift. In prefaelift models, you can barely distinguish them apart from one another but you can notice subtle differences in things like Wheels, door handles. Use of steel wheel and wheel covers and unpainted matte black door handle denote the W203 you're seeing is classic trim. But when you see alloy wheels and body coloured door handle which also has chrome insert, its sports or avantgarde trim. Sports trim has slightly lowered suspensions and slightly bigger tyres. The preface lift models ran from 2002-2004

For the Facelift models which started in 2005-2007, these were changed. The sports trim of which C230 compressor, C230 sports have as standard have lowered suspensions, staggered tyres (front and rear tyres are different), different front bumpers (AMG bumpers) which have wire mesh and egg shaped foglamps, plus AMG style wheels 17", different side skirts (AMG), and rear bumpers (AMG), and a big oval exhaust. While luxury/avantgarde trim has normal suspension which is raised higher than sports, it has a more modern designed bumper with plastic louvers, and spherical shaped foglamps (different from sports trim), the side skirts and rear tells the same story.

C230kompressor, 240, 320 started life as preface lift models in 2002, and were facelifted in 2005. They were phased out in 2006 and C230 sports, C280 luxury, C350 luxury/sports took their place.

The ES competes in luxury with E class. However, its a FWD and has very floaty suspension feel. This is very far from sporty feel the Benz is known for. (Don't underestimate ES300/330 speed. They're quick for those years).
Personally, I'd advice anyone to do a C320 or C240 facelift (2005). That has the proven and reliable M112 engine, and the 5G tronic which is a very robust and reliable transmission.

Not correct...C230 V6 is 2.5L engine while C230 V4 compressor engine is 1.8L engine.
C240 V6 is 3.0L engine n does come as V4
C320 V6 is 3.2L engine also does not come as V4
