This tweet from CBN official Twitter handle suggests that the recent restriction on foreign currency for milk import is meant to promote RUGA. Let Nigerians wisen up:

“We are determined to make milk production in Nigeria a viable economic proposition. If you need a loan to acquire land, do artificial insemination, grow grass or even provide water, we will give you. We are getting to the end of the road of milk importation in Nigeria” -Emefiele

Not necessarily. A self sufficient nation is the goal.

If the CBN has an ulterior motive, I really can’t say but it will be really sad.

As long as the ruga doesn’t cross into SE and SS, I’m fine. I’ll rather set up a ranch and staff it with people I know than give land to some fulani tyrants.

CBN under Emefiele is a disgrace and a complete mockery of what a central bank represents. It annoys to no end watching key institutions undergo irreversible decay.

Governor of kanduna said that we have two country here in Nigeria.

I reserve that for the northern country and their RUGA.

Less I forget, please ask FG about our own railway line project, or our land only good for RUGA?

They had to drag CBN into their satanic agenda after ruga was totally rejected. The tweet has Ruga written all over it.

A terrorist govt using Central Bank of Nigeria to create terrorist cells in the country. And some people think this regime is not a satanic govt? What is more evil than banning importation of milk with the bitting hunger in the land? Do they thing Nigerians can afford N100 milk per satchet with the poverty level in the country? All because Nigerians rejected Ruga.

No doubt the following saying is true; 'When the wicked are in power, the people suffer.'
Nigerians should brace for milk scarcity in coming weeks.

Nigerias protectionist policies are nothing unusual. There's a beef import ban, CBN has been promising low interest loans to ranchers and now this. They do this with any other industry when they want to prop it up. The list will grow since im pretty sure majority agreee with policy.

There is nothing shameful in importing milk, most countries import milk from Netherlands , are you better than Singapore that imports milk ? Did Botswanas president allow herders to kill over 25 thousand innocent people before the started expecting milk ? Everything Buhari is doing is geared toward empowering his Fulanis and nothing ..Did Nigerian poultry farmers make noise and kill people before making Nigeria poultry sufficient? Hell No ... Buhari is doing these with Fulanis in mind just watch what he. Will do when other tribes start trying to rear cattles

I can you come here to support the importation of milk to the tune of $1b yearly. A country of 180M people and yet to are telling us to because Singapore import milk and then we should continue to import. Even if you hate Buhari is the CBN governor a fulani man to? Please let us be logical and rational in our thinking

First and foremost Fulanis Zebu cattle doesn't have the ability to produce the quality and quantity of milk required for full milk industrialization and as an ardent supporter of comparative advantage in trade Insist it better you focus on what you have advantage in than trying to beat around the bush with something you are clearly advantaged in . The average Zebu cattle cannot even produce 5 litres of good milk a day when compared to Netherlands Fresians that can produce upto 80 litres a day because they are dedicated diary cattles . Don't you think the CBN and Buhari should first see how we can stop importing petrol first which is the one eating the largest chunk of our foriegn exchange despite Nigeria being the 6th largest oil exporter ? Don't you think that will make more sense first than this sinister irredentist driven agenda to empower Fulanis people by all means

Oh my generation.

Our biggest problem is ignorance. USA imports bread, tooth pick, plastic takeaway packs, etc. What you should be ashamed of is that your country, a leading oil producer, imports fuel from Niger Republic and can't boast of 5 hours of electricity and basic security. In any case, its ignoramuses like you that will bear the brunt of the ban because Emefiele, Buhari and their families will continue to enjoy the best milk from around the world ban or no ban.

The phrase necessity is the mother of invention means nothing to you people, you view every opportunity and advantage from pedestrian and antagonistic views instead of harnessing the opportunities that come with these proposals.

Instead of whining and twisting government proposals to suit your baseless and tribal narratives, have your leaders proposed or approached the FG to access federal funds to fund livestock and dairy in your communities to even suit your own preferred conditions? No, you are just blabbing and pontificating over your usual tribal, ethnic and anti-FG sentiments.

Nigerian won't import milk forever and won't refrain from self-sufficiency regardless of your tribal and anti-FG sentiments.

Funny enough, when and after other states progressed by taking advantage of these FG programs and funds, you'll turn around to start playing the victim routine with anti-FG sentiments and cries of marginalization after marginalizing yourselves.

You people are definitely your own worse enemies.

What is good for Nigeria is bad for them and what is bad for Nigeria is good and perfect for them.

Never seen people with such twisted and upside down thining and mentality.

Cry for yourself bro. Head or tail, the Igbos win. If there’s any business case for local production of milk in Nigeria, only Igbo business men have what it takes to exploit it regardless of whether CBN doles out billions or not; ban or not. 1000 million Buharis and Emefieles can’t stop determined Igbo business men from importing milk. And here’s the joker: their biggest customers would be Buhari, Emefiele and their families. Meditate on it bro.

Yeah story, just like how we agreed with Buhari to remove subsidies from Fuel, but what do we have today, N145 and he's secretly paying subside in trillions.

Just like how we gave him benefit of the doubt on rice, from N7,000 to 20K a bag. Where is the so-called lake rice? How come am only seeing smuggled foreign rice in the market.

We all can't be zombie like you. Buhari is an illiterate who should have been dead by now.
