FIRST ILLUSTRATION (The Journey of Life)

The journey of life can be likened to a road or a route that leads to a very far place. The road can be an expressway, full of potholes, broad, narrow and can be a single lane or more.

Each of us is like a car. It depends on the owner of the car how he or she takes care of it; how far or how slow he or she drives. Cars are allowed to join together to form one, as in marriage. The cars are of different makes and everyone is allowed to build theirs, but they must follow the rules and regulations of the road.

Overtaking is allowed. But if you overtake at the wrong time, you may get lucky or you may crash with another car.

We all know that in expressways, the people who overtake have different reasons:

REASONS

It could be that they are in a rush;
It could be that they are just trying to show how smart and fast they are.
The same is applicable to the journey on the road of life. Some people like to overtake others just to show how smart they are.

Unfortunately, traffic may occur. We can liken traffic to economic depression, famine, or a catastrophe, where every car moves at a slow pace. Here, some drivers like to think they are also smart, so they cause more traffic, and cause a lot of problems for other innocent people.

Back to marriage. When a car is joined to another to become one, overtaking is not allowed unless both are speeding together, because it may lead to the accident of both and others.

The point is that in this journey in the road of life, we should all drive carefully, obeying the rules and regulations and if a car(s) is joined with us, we should watch them carefully and guide them in driving theirs. Don’t try to have the same car that others have; have and build your own. The other person’s car might not fit you.

SECOND ILLUSTRATION

he journey of life is like an expressway to two particular destinations. Every human being must drive his or her car on this expressway. Each driver is a learner and each learner needs a guide in the passenger seat.

On this expressway, there are ‘Road Safety Officers’, there are hawkers-those who sell things to people whenever those people have an holdup or their car has a fault.

In real life, when you go for driving lessons, they tell you to see every other driver as a potential crazy person. That means there are people who do whatever they want and cause problems both to themselves and others. Since you cannot read their minds, you have to follow the rules and drive carefully and safely.

ROAD SAFETY RULES

One of the Road Safety Rules is that you should fasten your seatbelts because they can save your life in the case of accidents. Another rule is to use the traffic lights before changing lanes to avoid stories that touch. Follow the signs also.

The cars can be likened to each life of humans. The rules and regulations are those written by God to actually save your life in this journey.

The expressway is the path human takes to two destinations, either paradise or eternal damnation. Any driver without a guide will certainly drive to eternal damnation. Why? Because the guide is the Holy Spirit.

The guide is supposed to tell you when you drive too fast and repair your car during a breakdown or change your tires when it gets burst since the road of life is not only an expressway but it also contains potholes.

Therefore, I am telling you today:
1. Get a guide.
2. Drive carefully
3. Follow the rules and regulations
4. Be careful of what you buy from the hawkers because some can do you good and some can do you bad.
