President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to two Bills passed by the 8th National Assembly, upgrading the College of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State, to a full-fledged University, and reforming punitive measure of the Architects Registration Council.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) Mr Ita Enang disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Enang said the assenting of the Federal College of Agriculture Bill had upgraded the school from a ‘Federal College of Agriculture’ to a full-fledged Federal University of Agriculture, with all the powers and status of a university.

He explained that the assented Architects Registration Council (Amendment) Bill has increased the penalty fee from N1,000 to N500,000

This is very commendable and pleasing to know.

I think all polytechnics in Nigeria should be upgraded to universities, we are still in dire need of universities.

However, the upgrades should be followed up with adequate funding.

It’s a very good development for me. Coz Federal character commission will take care of the employment procedures in the school as more people will be employed across board including haters of Buhari

Baba, when will you reform Abia Poly to Fed Poly nah?


Moreover, one President will come and make in every state 2 Fed Universities.... and constitute more problems for us.

Kebbi already has a Fed Univ, not even Lagos the Centre of Excellence, has 2....

Na wah....

Abia, Ogun and Benue have no Federal-owned Conventional Universities....I don't understand this move
