MTN calls now 10 naira per minute by houvest: 3:47pm On Oct 17, 2010
I got this message today from MTN 'Make MTN to MTN calls between 12 pm and 4pm everyday for only N10/minute. Vald until oct28.'
I hope it will be pro-rated on per second billing and that it will extend in timeĀ  and date eventually. This might be their response to the Etisalat and glo tariff reduction promos. Nigerian GSM users are really in for a better bargain.

Meyn!! Everybody is owning an Etisalat line now, with a #100 recharge one can talk for so long. MTN gats do something about their tariff, else they'll suffer a major loss in customer base.

Glo is even better, the same 25k per sec as etisalat but no daily charge of 20 naira.

Glo is limited to only 24 states thats why etisalat's promo is better.but who knows for how long

I hope this is not a hoax. I tested this today and it was not true. I called an MTN line from my MTN around 3 pm for 37 secs and it cost me 18 Naira. Is it that it has not yet started? Then why advertise it and give it a deadline of 28th october or is their a code for it?

I figure MTN is just trying a cheeky way to respond to the tarrif reduction by Etisalat and Glo. I'm sure that in a few months, that might become their default tarrif across board, you know MTN usually doens't do anything until it has been pushed to the wall, which is what Etisalat did with their 25k/sec.

Zain on the other hand is lost in the wilderness!! Tarrif, no way, internet, no way. Zain is looking like the first casualty to go down in the telecoms wars, which would be a shame, considering that Etisalat that just started is forging ahead.
