On a recent Public Lecture Hosted by the Department of mechanical engineering which was dated on the 2nd day of August 2019, several educative information were passed on by the Guest Lecturer, Prof. Leonard F. Daniel, a Professor in the institute of Technology, USA, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

This Public Lecture was graced by high esteemed dignitaries such as The Chief Host, Professor Eno James Ibanga - Vice Chancellor of the Akwa Ibom State University, Prof. Donald K. Uko, Prof. Aniedi O. Ette, Prof. Itaketo (University of Uyo), Chief Clement Isong, Team from Victor Attah International Airport and a host of others.

Professor Leonard During his Lecture exposed of the poor position of Nigeria in terms of Aerospace Capacity and being one of the solid factors behind The Aerospace Engineering program about to commence in the Kwara State University (Kwasu), he also suggested that Institutions in Nigeria should at least start up programs that will groom young engineers in the aerospace field of technology.

After the Interactive and Educative Lecture session, Prof. Eno Ibanga, Vice Chancellor of The Akwa Ibom State University, Included that his major purpose for the public lecture was to gain ideas on his motives on establishing an Aerospace Engineering program in the school before the end of his tenure as the Vice Chancellor, He also said that Akwa Ibom State Is capable enough to establish such benchmarks and is blessed with hopefully enough facilities for a start up.
