the invention was to assist drivers in parallel parking or even turning the vehicle around 360 degree in a very tight spot.
In US, cities with street parking have marked lines which your tires most not cross or you get a ticket when you park. Moreover, these spots are usually just enough for one car because there are other cars parked at both ends.
So, you have to really know what you are doing to get your car in between the two others to avoid buying market.

Traveling back in 1933, how amazing was this 1933 5th Wheel Invention

Shouldn't car manufacturers bring this 1933 5th wheel invention back to help all the hopeless parallel parkers at least as optional and where possible of course, breakthrough in parking maneuver for 360 turn around, you'd wanna ask where'd all those old-time inventions go to? Some would have been very useful. and just a few years ago (up to now including horse trailer) the car companies sell the parking assistant as an innovation.

A patent for this 1933 5th Wheel Invention technology issued in 1938, Apparently the inventor, pitched it to Detroit automakers until his death in the 1970s. The utility just couldn't outweigh the trade-offs and expense required. Must not have been cost effective enough to put into production, That was ahead of its time, and a great item to show innovation with.

Neat invention from onegoodhead in 1933 but never made it in becoming an option on new cars then nor later. Just another invention not used. Required additional mechanics for lifting and sideways acceleration would use all space of the cargo and rear passenger space...

Why not just learn how to drive well?
People have been passing driving test and doing all maneuvers correctly with 4wheels.
If you can't do it, don't drive. Employ a driver or use public transport.

This crap design must have been stopped because it made a rather simple automobile more complicated with shafts, gears and mechanism all over the place. More maintenance, more repairs, more things to break

Even 4 wheel steering was stopped in he early 90's.
