Android open source unlike Google licenced versions which invariably means independence from Google in extension USA. If 5G OEMs is equipment based only I wonder why Nokia and Eriksson hasn't been able to manufacture thier own equipment and why countries like UK is testing the equipment for malware or backdoors that is alleged to serve the China government spying.

The shipyard in Belfast employed about 35,000 at its pre-World War II peak in 1935. It has only 123 full-time employees today. It has not built a ship since 2003, when it built two ferries. you are getting it wrong, Nokia does not manufacture network hardware, and yes I agree that huawei is probably going to be the first company to manufacture a market ready network hardware for 5 g that does not mean they invented pt created 5 g. as for the os the tech innovation behind it does not belong to huawei, they are merely piggy backing on an existing software innovation.
