During the 2015 general elections in Kogi state, the APC Governorship candidate Prince Abubakar Audu was coasting to victory until his untimely death before his victory could be announced. James Abiodun Faleke who was the APC Deputy Governorship candidate to Prince Abubakar Audu felt he would get the mandate. Due to the fact that he is a loyalist to Asiwaju Tinubu and he is also seen as a lagos politician, a plot was hatched by Saraki, Dino Maleye and some Kogi stake holders who were afraid of the state being in the grasp of the bourdillon politician. Saraki wanted to be senate president, while Asiwaju favoured someone else, so the battle line had been drawn. During the Apc primaries Yahaya Bello came in second to Prince Abubakar Audu and as soon as he lost, he went to work for the Pdp candidate Idris Ichala Wada who was the Kogi state governor at the time. Aisha Buhari, Yahaya Bello and Dino Maleye are all graduates of Ahmadu Bello University. Aisha Buhari & Yahaya Bello are very good friends,Some people even said that if not for the fact that she was married at the time, they would say they were dating. Aisha Buhari was used by Dino Maleye to sell Yahaya Bello to president Buhari and the Apc chairman Chief Oyegun. During the early days of Yahaya Bello's administration, Dino Maleye produced the SSG of the state and some other top slots.It was the rift between the senate president and the presidency that turned Yahaya Bello and Dino Maleye to enemies.Yahaya Bello runs Kogi state like an inheritance,without any check and balance's,even his deputy is treated like a councillor and his closeness to Aisha Buhari makes him irremovable whatever he does.As for Dino Maleye,he is seeking revenge because he felt betrayed after helping Bello become governor.So all the stake holders that want to defeat Yahaya Bello in Apc and other parties have to find a way to first defeat the first lady Aisha Buhari.

This makes sense somehow..

But the question is, Is Aisha still supporting Bello this time?

That's not strange in Nigerian politics. People worship political leaders in power. PEJ did it in River state, it got so bad that Amaech said he was prevented from going out of Govt House by PEJ..

Now to Kogi state, it appears PMB is not interested in the plight of Kogi workers and anything that may be of interest to the welfare of the citizens of this country resident in that state. How do we explain the imposition of the most ineffective and inefficient Governor in Nigeria on the people of the state of Kogi? Why is the presidency not making any denial of the allegations levelled against the First Lady? why is GYB always running down to Abuja to take photographs with members of the first family to debunk rumours that he will soon be denied of APC ticket through a free and fair direct primary? etc.
Aisha may be powerful today to use her position to inflict pain and agony on the people of Kogi state, but believe me God who gives power is capable of delivering us from her. As per the role of Dino Melaye in the whole saga, he has tendered a public apology for his role as for me I have forgiven him because of his recent change of attitudes and pro-masses campaign against the misrule of GYB. Remember, it is possible to trust someone only for the trust to be betrayed. GYB betrayed the confidence reposed on him by Dino.

Saraki already has his rewards in the saga. One will like to ask, why is Tinubu not insisting the Faleke should contest the primary again in Kogi state if he truly has the interest of the suffering masses in the state at heart?
