#Revolutionnow: Why It Should Be Your Concern! by Emusan(m): 12:59pm On Aug 07, 2019
Since the arrest of the co-runner of the #revolutionnow and the demonstrators on Monday, mix reactions have sprung up, while some give the reason of not in support, some has given the reason they threw in their support.

This article is to highlight some misconceptions and why you need to throw away tribalism, ethnic bigotry and religion to save this country from the impending doom that's coming.

Firstly, I'm not a fan of Politic, so I don't vote not to talk of affiliation with any political party and this will be my first topic on Politic Section since I join Nairaland.

Secondly, I've noticed how the political elites who are kin on holding this country to ransom are using some youths to fight this #RevolutionNow by simply cringe to a statement like "Sowore wouldn't have use the word REVOLUTION"

What if I tell you that, the word "REVOLUTION" is the perfect word for this struggle?

A quick search on the word REVOLUTION can help! because of space I'll use this since they use it as their support.

1. a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favour of a new system. "the country has had a socialist revolution"
synonyms: rebellion, revolt, insurrection, mutiny, uprising, riot, rioting, rising, insurgence, insurgency, coup, overthrow, seizure of power, regime change; More:
subversion, sedition, anarchy, disorder, protest, strike, act of resistance, act of defiance; coup d'état; putsch; (Oxford Dictionary)

NOTICE: The people behind this statement craftily holding on to @underlined only whereas the other parts which solely addressed the intent of the organizer were left out.

We can even see that "PROTEST and STRIKE" are also synonymous with REVOLUTION.

Why should you be concerned about this?

It's evident that irrespective of our diversity in this country be it Tribal, ethics, religion e.t.c and which side we choose to stand, the storm that besieged us didn't use to come with Tribalism or religion differences. In fact, the economy downturn in the country right now knows no tribe or religion.

This leads me to my next question!

Do you think this economy downturn has ended?

To be honest, our politicians still make it look as if it is but in reality it's not as a matter of fact, we haven't started. You may then ask, How? I'll tell you.

A new Technology will be rolled out next year 2020 (I won't mention the name), let's hear what experts say about it.

Forbes calls this technology, “The next frontier and it will open up a completely different world”... And that it will “create an entirely new class of devices and services that will change our lives forever.”

CNBC had this to say about it, “The tech economy depends on it, without it the technology revolution stops.”

Another source says "In short, THIS is the technology that we’ve been waiting for... the one at the center of the next generation of mind-blowing advances...

And I’m not the only one saying this..."

The Hill calls it the “key to unlocking the digital future.”

One industry publication said, “this technology is set to take the world by storm.”

And Tech Radar says, “this technology will be far more life-changing than you think.”

One thing is certain, if this tech going to take the world by storm, do you think Nigeria for instance will float or sink with it?

You see people who already know the impending doom that's coming will see #RevolutionNow as the right course to challenge the old tradition of Nigeria system to usher in a complete new system that can make us as a nation afloat with the storm.

>You may think because you associate yourself with every government in power, you're safe!
>You may think because you're a business expert, you'll scale through!
>You may think because your people are wealthy, your side is covered!
>This storm isn't going to tell you it only knows Igbo or Yoruba or Fulani.

One thing I've known about storm is that, it didn't discriminate and doesn't have a path, and no one can tell its gravity of its devastating.

Asking National Assembly to pass a bill that will make all politicians and public office holders not to travel outside for medical treatment and sending their children to study abroad, for our decayed health sectors and schools to be revamped....needs revolution!

Asking for a system that will put this nation on a right track within few years...needs revolution!

If you have seen through your instinct and foresight the unavoidable storm that's coming and this nation will not escape and you haven't seen the reason to join your voice with other before it's too late. You can do that now.

Remember, there is a time of grace for everything who knows this is the only grace time we have as a nation to make it right. 2023 maybe too late for that!

A concerned Nigerian!
